Even as I posted that last post, Facebook put two ads requesting I pay them to boost the post and send it to people.

Okay, Facebook has gotten Sales crazy, my page is nothing but ads, they never notify me of messages anymore and spend all kinds of time telling how great they can make my page and how many people I can connect with. If you need to contact please do not rely on Facebook to get in touch. Send me a direct email [email protected] or call me. My number should be here some place, if not Google me. I've tried to contact at least one person who messaged me and Facebook says they are unavailable and deleted the message. Please DO NOT rely on Facebook as my contact, and then leave me a negative rating, I have pretty much gotten away from using Facebook for contacts as they don't notify me and they are more interested in selling me stuff or putting click bait in front of me.

Keep your data and programming intact.

It's been awhile since I posted anything here. Yet, with the upcoming holidays I just wanted to let you know of a new scam that is spreading. Many of us are going to be doing at least some of our shopping online and scams like the one in this article is something we all need to watch out for. I like to tell my customers, don't follow an ad link, if you want to go to a site type their url in yourself or use the shortcut you created. Never follow an ad. Most browsers will show you what url you are going to at the bottom of the screen when you hoover over the link with the mouse. Look at it, don't just glance at it really look, because many of the links are different forms of the actual site you want to go to, while looking similar, they are really taking you to malware, scams and viruses. I suggest reading this article about the new scam that has been released very recently that could cost you thousands or even every penny in your bank account.

Just in time for the holidays, malicious websites are scamming users with a new technique: They automatically launch dialing apps to make calling fake support lines a one-button mistake.

It's been awhile since I posted anything, but this one is important for those of you who follow our page. Windows 10 is releasing a patch tomorrow. The article will tell you about the patch and how to take steps to slow down the updates.

In the article there is a link to help you shut off and slow down automatic updates. If you're uncomfortable doing this yourself and have a laptop, stop by the shop and we'll help you out.

You have to patch sooner or later, but there’s no reason to directly expose your machine to malformed missives from Microsoft.
