Bridging the Cybersecurity Gap: The Need for More Women in the Field
As cyber threats continue to rise, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals in the U.S. has never been higher. However, the industry faces a significant talent shortage, with millions of unfilled positions globally. One of the key ways to address this workforce gap is by increasing diversity—particularly by encouraging more women to enter and thrive in the field.
Women currently make up only about 25% of the cybersecurity workforce, despite bringing valuable skills such as problem-solving, risk assessment, and innovative thinking. Increasing female representation not only helps close the labor gap but also enhances the overall effectiveness of cybersecurity teams by introducing diverse perspectives and approaches to security challenges.
