Service Interruption Notice

This morning, sewer construction crews working on Main Cross in Taylorville accidentally struck a CTI fiber line, resulting in a service interruption affecting 66 CTI customers.

After assessing the damage, our Emergency Response Team determined that the fiber line was damaged beyond repair and must be replaced to ensure the long-term reliability of our network and help prevent future service interruptions.

Replacing the damaged line is an extensive and time consuming. At this time, we do not have an estimated restoration time, but we will provide updates as the repair progresses.

Our crews are working diligently and will do everything possible to restore your CTI services as quickly and safely as possible. We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding while we complete these necessary repairs.

Final Update: All CTI services should now be restored.

Update: Our Emergency Response Team has located a fiber line that has indeed been struck and severed. We will work to repair the damage as quickly as possible. Estimated time of restoration 6pm.

Our emergency response team has been dispatched to investigate a possible fiber strike that has caused a service interruption in the Nokomis, Witt, and Irving service areas.

Final update: Repairs are complete. Seems like a great time to remind everyone the importance of calling 811 before you dig and to always avoid digging where underground utilities are marked.

Update: 99% of the repair work has been completed and most of those experiencing a service interruption have been restored. Our crew is continuing to wrap up getting the remaining 1% back online. You may need to power cycle your router to regain connection. Reminder, power cycle is a fancy term for unplug from power for 30 seconds then plug back in.

Earlier today our monitoring team noticed wide spread service interruptions in Irving, Witt and Nokomis service areas. Upon investigation our Emergency Response Team located a fiber line that had been struck outside of Irving. Our team has assessed the damage and have mobilized repair efforts. The repairs needed are quite extensive and are expected to take between 6 to 8 hours to complete. As always our team will work as quickly as possible to repair the damage and get your CTI services back up and running. We thank you for your patience as our team works through this extensive repair.

Our emergency response team is currently investigating a possible line strike that is causing a service interruption for CTI customers in Witt and Nokomis service areas.

Update: We have confirmed the service interruption is based via line strike North East of Irving. Our team is organizing repair efforts now. We will keep you posted once we have an idea as to how long the repair will take.

We are aware of a service interruption affecting some customers in the Nokomis area. Our emergency response team has been dispatched to investigate. As of now we do not have an estimated time of restoration, but will work quickly to assess and restore services to those affected.

We are currently experiencing issues with a third party phone carrier and this is causing service interruptions with our phone system. Our team is working diligently to fix the issue.

Update: CTI services should be restored to those affected at this time. You may need to power cycle your CTI equipment to bring your service back online. Unplug your router from the power source, wait :30 seconds then plug it back in. It’s important that you do not reset your router only power cycle it.
