💡 Industry Insight of the Week

Artificial intelligence may be getting most of the headlines, but the technology supporting it deserves just as much attention.

Accenture and Dell Technologies recently announced an expanded partnership aimed at helping businesses scale private AI solutions while modernizing their IT infrastructure. The announcement highlights an important reality: as organizations move from experimenting with AI to incorporating it into everyday business operations, they need reliable computing environments, secure data management, strong networking, and infrastructure capable of supporting increasingly demanding workloads.

For IT professionals, developments like this are another reminder that foundational technical skills aren't becoming obsolete. They're evolving alongside the technology they support. Cloud computing, networking, infrastructure management, and cybersecurity all play important roles in helping organizations adopt and maintain emerging technologies.

Certifications such as CompTIA Cloud+ and Cisco CCNA can help professionals develop knowledge in these areas, providing a foundation for understanding the systems that make modern innovation possible.

As the technology industry moves forward, the people who understand how to build, connect, manage, and secure its infrastructure will continue to play an essential role.

When a network experiences an issue, the solution isn't always obvious. A connectivity problem could involve routing, switching, configuration, addressing, security, or any number of interconnected systems.

Knowing how to identify the cause requires more than recognizing networking terminology. It requires understanding how networks actually operate.

That's part of the value of earning your Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

CCNA helps professionals develop knowledge across network fundamentals, network access, IP connectivity, IP services, security fundamentals, and automation. These concepts provide a foundation for understanding how networks are configured, maintained, secured, and troubleshot.

For individuals interested in network administration, infrastructure support, or other networking-related roles, CCNA can help establish technical knowledge that supports continued professional development.

As networks become increasingly connected to cloud computing, cybersecurity, automation, and other technologies, having a solid understanding of networking fundamentals remains valuable.

When a computer won't start, an application stops responding, or a device suddenly loses connectivity, someone needs to figure out what went wrong—and how to get everything working again.

Those everyday challenges are a big part of what makes foundational IT knowledge so valuable.

CompTIA A+ introduces the essential skills used to support and troubleshoot the technology people rely on at work and at home. From hardware and operating systems to networking, software, security, and mobile devices, A+ helps build a broad understanding of how technology works and how to address common technical problems.

For individuals interested in entering the IT industry, A+ can provide a practical starting point for exploring technical support, help desk, and other entry-level technology roles.

And the knowledge doesn't stop being useful once you've moved beyond your first IT position. Understanding the fundamentals can help you approach more advanced technologies with greater confidence as your career develops.

Not every organization relies on a single cloud provider. Many businesses operate across multiple platforms while continuing to maintain traditional on-premises infrastructure. For IT professionals, understanding how those different environments work together can be a valuable skill.

That's one reason CompTIA Cloud+ is worth considering.

Unlike certifications focused on one specific cloud platform, Cloud+ validates vendor-neutral knowledge of cloud infrastructure, deployment, operations, security, and troubleshooting. It helps professionals understand the underlying principles that apply across different cloud technologies.

This makes Cloud+ particularly relevant for individuals working in systems administration, networking, infrastructure, and IT operations who want to expand their capabilities without limiting themselves to one provider.

As organizations continue modernizing their technology environments, professionals who understand how to support, secure, and manage cloud infrastructure can bring valuable versatility to their teams.

Your existing IT knowledge can be the starting point for developing broader cloud expertise.

Everyone approaches learning differently. Some prefer a structured classroom schedule, while others learn best when they have the freedom to pause, review, and spend extra time understanding a topic before moving forward.

With CBT Campus on-demand training, you can experience recorded instructor-led instruction while working through your course on a schedule that makes sense for you.

Our on-demand training options include:

💻 CompTIA A+ — 5 recorded sessions, approximately 4 hours each

🌐 CompTIA Network+ — 4 recorded sessions, approximately 4 hours each

🔐 CompTIA Security+ — 5 recorded sessions, approximately 4 hours each

Each course includes three months of access, giving you the opportunity to revisit lessons, reinforce important concepts, and work through the material at your own pace. Additional access can be purchased if you need more time.

Whether you're beginning your IT journey, expanding your networking knowledge, or building a foundation in cybersecurity, you can learn from experienced instructors without having to attend a live class at a fixed time.

There is a difference between knowing how to use cybersecurity tools and understanding how all the pieces of an organization's security program fit together.

That's one reason CISSP® has become such a respected credential for experienced cybersecurity professionals. It validates broad expertise across security and risk management, asset security, architecture and engineering, communications and network security, identity and access management, assessment and testing, security operations, and software development security. ISC2 positions CISSP specifically around the knowledge and skills needed to lead an organization's information security program.

For professionals who have already accumulated real-world cybersecurity experience, CISSP can demonstrate something bigger than familiarity with one technology: the ability to look at security from an organization-wide perspective.

As cybersecurity becomes increasingly connected to business strategy, risk, governance, AI, and organizational resilience, that broader understanding can be valuable for professionals pursuing senior technical, management, architecture, and leadership opportunities.

Your experience has value. A respected certification can help you demonstrate it.

Make IT Training Fit Your Life.

Work. Family. Responsibilities. Life doesn't always leave an open week on the calendar for training—but that doesn't mean your certification goals have to wait.

CBT Campus on-demand courses for CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ give you a more flexible way to build your IT knowledge. Each course features recorded instructor-led sessions that you can access during your three-month training period, allowing you to work through the material around your existing schedule.

And there's another benefit to learning this way: you can go back. If a networking concept doesn't quite click the first time or you want another look at a cybersecurity topic, you can revisit the instruction instead of relying on your notes or memory from a one-time class.

Whether you're building your first IT foundation with A+, expanding into networking with Network+, or developing essential cybersecurity knowledge with Security+, you can choose the path that aligns with where you want to go next.

At an advanced level, cybersecurity isn't always about finding one vulnerability or responding to one alert. Professionals have to consider how architecture, operations, risk, governance, and business requirements work together across an entire environment.

That's where CompTIA SecurityX comes in.

SecurityX is an advanced certification geared toward security architects and senior security engineers, with an emphasis on designing and implementing secure solutions across complex environments while supporting enterprise resilience, governance, risk, and compliance.

For experienced cybersecurity professionals who want to continue advancing without leaving the technical side of the field behind, SecurityX can provide a way to demonstrate higher-level technical knowledge and the ability to approach security challenges from a broader perspective.

Cybersecurity threats will continue to change. Advanced professionals need the skills to change with them.

💡 Industry Insight of the Week

AI Is Advancing. Is Cybersecurity Prepared?

Organizations are rapidly bringing artificial intelligence into their operations—but new research suggests cybersecurity preparedness isn't always keeping pace.

According to ISACA's 2026 State of Cybersecurity research, just 8% of surveyed organizations regularly conduct AI-specific incident response exercises. Nearly half of cybersecurity professionals surveyed either don't know whether their organization has an established AI incident playbook or report that one doesn't exist.

At the same time, cybersecurity professionals are becoming increasingly involved in implementing and governing AI. More than half of respondents said they or their teams are now involved in developing, onboarding, or implementing AI solutions—up substantially from just two years ago.

It's another reminder that adopting new technology is only one part of the equation. Organizations also need professionals who can evaluate new risks, develop security strategies, prepare for incidents, and make informed decisions when technology evolves faster than established processes.

For cybersecurity professionals, keeping skills current isn't just about learning the newest tool. It's about developing the expertise to secure whatever comes next.
