Great news, CVT customers!

Following the recent storms, all fiber customers who experienced service outages due to downed lines have officially been restored!

Our crews have worked hard to get our fiber network back up and running, and we’re thankful for their dedication to providing the reliable service our communities depend on!

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Some CVT customers in Alabama Power service territories may still be experiencing internet outages due to ongoing power outages in their areas. Once electric service is restored, broadband service should return as well.

Utility lines can carry more than electricity! Some also carry the fiber-optic cables that keep homes and businesses connected to the internet. So, while we are in dove hunting season, and that dove may look like an easy target, there could be a whole lot more riding on that utility line than meets the eye! 🕊️

A stray shot that damages a line can interrupt internet service for an entire neighborhood! In return, you may have some angry neighbors! Nobody wants to be the reason the Wi-Fi goes out!

So before you take aim, look up, know what’s behind your target and keep your distance from utility lines.
