🚨 Tacoma TPU outage 🚨

UPDATE: All of our modems are online!

If you are like me wondering where the power went just now, there is a widespread TPU power outage in Tacoma and surrounding areas. Our teams are working behind the scenes and will get you restored as soon as possible.

Keep those freezers and fridges closed because TPU said it could be out until 2:30 at least.

Once you have power, if your internet is not restored, please try disconnecting and reconnecting your Lightcurve equipment.

We’re honored to share that Lightcurve has been named Best in Pierce County for Customer Service 2026 by The News Tribune. We are so thankful to receive this recognition for the second year in a row.

Thank you to every reader who voted and to The News Tribune for celebrating local businesses across our region. This recognition from our Pierce County neighbors means the world to our team.

This award belongs to our customer service team. Every day, they bring patience, determination, and professionalism to every call, every visit and every question. Most importantly, they treat each customer like a neighbor, showing up with care, taking the time to get it right, and going the extra mile to make sure people feel heard and supported. We are proud of them and grateful for the work they do.

“Our employees live and work in the communities we serve, so when a customer walks into our store or calls us for help, they’re talking to someone who shares their streets, their schools and their concerns,” said Beth Barnes , SVP of Sales and Marketing at Lightcurve. “That connection is at the heart of great customer service, and it’s why our team is so committed to getting it right.”

Thank you Pierce County!! We appreciate you!

As we celebrate Indigenous People’s Day, we wanted to continue with our artist highlight of Paige Pettibon, a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Tacoma, Washington, working across painting, mixed media, jewelry, and public art.

Rooted in her Black and Bitterroot Salish heritage and shaped by her upbringing on Coast Salish territories, Pettibon’s work challenges dominant narratives while building spaces for connection, accountability, and cultural continuity. Her practice centers on questioning systems of value, power, and belonging using visual language as a way to provoke dialogue and imagine more just futures.

Take a moment and look through at the many ways Paige is uplifting indigenous stories with her art. Her talent is wide reaching and this is only a small peek. Make sure to follow her creative journey at Paige Pettibon and Plain_to_Sea.

Paige is also a board member of Indigenous Creatives Collective , a great page to follow to connect with other local indigenous creatives, like the super talented Indigenous Collective board members, Amanda (Beadwork by Amanda Chavira ) and Epiphany (epiphany couch ). They are both so talented!

Paige, thank you for inspiring those of us who have encountered your work. We look forward to seeing what you create next!

Our communities are so rich with indigneous creators and visionairies, feel free to show love to some of your favorites in the comments or create a post of your own.

As we celebrate Indigenous People’s Day, we are so thankful for the diversity that makes up a healthy and rich community. Uplifting and amplifying Indigenous voices is part of how we grow and move towards a healthier world.

There are so many talented Indigenous PNW artists, but one artist in particular, Paige Pettibon, has caught our attention with her talented multidisciplinary approach. The beautiful piece shown here, “Deer”, was created by Paige for day 11 of ndnartober, a yearly creative challenge for the month of October for Indigenous artists.

Tune back in a couple of hours for a second post featuring more about the talented artist behind Paige Pettibon and Plain_to_Sea.

Happy National Coffee Day!!

In celebration we wanted to share a few of our fave shops in a few of our service areas. If you need a pick me up today, check out the spot nearest you. We LOVE that a lot of these businesses are ran and owned by young people and want to shout out the drive it takes to have a successful business. Swipe to discover! These are a small peek into the amazing locally owned shops we are lucky to have in our communities.

Drop your go to coffee spot in the comments with the location, so we can all discover more places to get our caffeine fix.

In Tacoma, Curran Coffee is not only aesthetically a dream, the owners are sisters who took over this space that was rich in history and made it their own. Old Town Tacoma is such a good experience, so snag a coffee at Curran if you are nearby!

In Ellensburg, we love The Burg Coffee & Kitchen and recently collaborated with them. The owner converted an old laundry mat into a fun off campus hangout. Stop by today to support a local business and for really good coffee!! (We also would suggest their breakfast sandwiches!)

In Centralia, Washington, Vagabond Coffee has a unique combo of plants and coffee. We love both things and feel like you can’t go wrong with that. Stop by and enjoy.

You can find Rescue Me Coffee in Puyallup as a drive thru and they have a new indoor space with seating that recently opened in Eatonville. We love that it is a small business that focuses on giving back to the first responder community. Stop by to support local, they offer a 20% discount for first responders!

🚨 Yelm Power Outage 🚨

We know most of Yelm is without power due to the windstorm and some are also without internet. We are so sorry to hear sbout the effects of the storm and hope they pass soon. Our teams continue to work around the clock behind the scenes to restore everyone’s internet as the power is restored. We hope everyone is able to stay warm and safe tonight.

It’s National Sea Otter Awareness Week, and we’ve been celebrating a little extra at Lightcurve since we have an otter as part of our team (Otis isn’t exactly staff, but don’t tell him that!) 🦦

Otis was extra busy with our photographer at the zoo making two new friends, Clara (pictured in this video) and Moea. The girls are Sea Otter rescues living their best lives at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. These two are irresistible, so get ready to see a lot more of them on our socials!

Sea Otter Awareness Week is all about celebrating these incredible keystone species and the work being done to protect them. We love hearing the rescue story of Otis’ new friends at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and couldn’t think of a better week to introduce Otis’s new pals.

What are your favorite Otter accounts to follow?
