After 30 years developing real-time locating systems for life-safety, I'm watching healthcare make the same frequency mistake that cost one federal agency $434 million.

BLE is being marketed as the future of RTLS. For asset tracking, it can work. For locking doors before patients elope and finding staff in duress through concrete walls, the physics say otherwise.

I wrote about what our 30+ years of operational experience across VA medical centers, public hospitals, prisons, and assisted living facilities has taught us — and the one question every hospital should ask before investing in RTLS.
