This is the process behind a recent pet portrait. I was given two reference photos that looked like two different dogs in both color and markings, so I chose to create a portrait that fell somewhere in between. The finished piece was given as a gift, and the recipient was thrilled with the likeness. Soft pastels on pastel paper.
