Larger employers are moving to ICHRA faster than anyone. It's changing who shows up on the other side.
HRA Council's newest data shows applicable large employers (50+ employees) are now the fastest-growing segment adopting ICHRA, with adoption rates more than doubling year over year. That's notable for a model long associated with small employers who couldn't afford group coverage any other way.
Hereβs what's showing up in the data:
* More than half of enrollees are under 45
* Most are choosing Silver and Gold tier plans
* Some are adding their own money on top of the employer contribution to get there
That's a different starting point than the individual market has historically brought. These aren't people who need convincing to have coverage. They're comparing options and making a choice, which means the advisor's role shifts from "explain the basics" to "help me pick well."
The bigger the employer, the bigger that population gets.
