About Us
Computer XP is an Information Technology service company serving businesses and consumers throughout the Stockton area and beyond.
Our technicians work with a wide variety of technologies, including desktops, laptops, servers, Microsoft Windows environments, local and wide area networks, cloud services, and business applications. Services are performed either at our office or at customer locations.
Typical Responsibilities
• Build and configure desktop computers and laptops.
• Upgrade computer hardware (memory, SSDs/hard drives, batteries, keyboards, screens, etc.).
• Clone hard drives, perform system imaging, backups, and data recovery.
• Troubleshoot desktop and laptop hardware issues.
• Diagnose and repair Windows operating system problems.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and local networks.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Servers (Active Directory, file sharing, SharePoint, backups, etc.).
• Configure VPNs, Remote Desktop Services, and remote access solutions.
• Install and configure NAS storage devices.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers and scanners.
• Transfer user data and perform workstation migrations.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar).
• Previous Level 1 Help Desk or technical support experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routers, switches, Wi-Fi).
• Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills.
What We're Looking For
This position requires reliable personal transportation, as travel to customer locations is a regular part of the job. A valid driver's license and dependable vehicle are required.
