One of the first classes I’m finishing up this semester of my Masters program is Character Design! It was a real challenge but creating character sheets, full color mockups, and fluid illustrations was honestly really fun and I enjoyed the results more than I thought I would.

Scrolling through, you’ll see the most recent and polished illustration of my trio to the very beginning of trying to figure out what my main character, Lissi, was going to look like 👏🏼

My three characters, Lissi, Malou, and Mynte the Chicken are inspired by my Danish Heritage and is all set in 1920’s Denmark! There is honestly so much more to this little story I got to create for these gals, but that’s for another time 😉

Sooooo… I’m going back to school full-time at Liberty University!!! 🦅🔥

Whenever I graduated OSU I was really thinking about diving into my Masters of Fine Arts there because I always loved the idea of teaching design. So last year I tried out substitute teaching in public schools and hated it, teachers are the true troopers… but than I started teaching graphic design at Autry Technology Center here in Enid and just fell in love with it. Helping students connect their ideas to design and helping them with their thought processing is just so rewarding. As well as getting to see them flourish and grow in their newfound love for design is unlike anything. I got to start in the middle of last semester and have been with them this whole Spring semester and I still love coming to work. So thank you Autry Graphic Arts class of 2024 and 2025 for teaching me that I love to, well, teach! 🤩🥳❤️

I’ll start my Master of Fine Arts program this May and will be a full-time student until I graduate in December of 2025. My goal is to teach design at the collegiate level either in person or online and or become an Art Director in a studio, either I would love, but teaching design is where my heart sings. So here’s to going back to school and hopefully being in a college for the rest of my career!

This vanilla is anything BUT funky!!

Made with bourbon or vodka, Funky Vanilla is a quick project that I did for some Christmas gifts! Ty and I bottled the vanilla in August '23 and handed them out for my husband and I's family since we all love to bake. So that they weren't just clear, lifeless bottles I created labels and a quick brand for them.

I love getting to create packaging with texture so I did exactly that with the hand-done type, watercolor labels, and fun poppy colors. With this combination they are sure to stand out and create a smile when they open up their baking cupboard. To elevate the design from child-like to relevant, I added a sleek serif font that pairs well the curvy type of the main text as seen in the grids on the label.

This was a last minute project but even so this label was super fun to make and I loved getting to incorporate some of my favorite textures. Anytime I get the opportunity to design packaging I will take it!

Here’s to some yummy funky vanilla! I will be making more for next year and I’m excited to make a second batch of these!

Happy National Mountain Day :) to honor this day I sketched up the tippy top of Mount Everest, the mightiest mountain of them all (or K2 more mighty)? These beasts across the world are important to love, preserve, and keep in mind in our daily actions.

Celebrate this day by using less water, recycling where you can, and walking or biking to your destination instead of driving! Preserving the world helps to preserve our mountains all over 😄🏔️

Howdy! How fun is this! This is a recent set of branding that I got to work on for ! I love how it came out, I love the color palette and the hand done type alongside the illustrative cowboy hat. Such a lovely combo for a pecan farm. It stands out, it’s sticks in the consumers head, and has cowboy accents all through out to match the name.

Until the end of December I will have multiple products being sold at The Dickens Village in downtown Sapulpa at The Chute! Come for the yummy food, beautiful Christmas lights and installations and stay for the small shops (including my stuff ;) ). Come to Sapulpa and get some of your Christmas shopping out of the way, you will not regret it!!

We have added a new family member and now we are no longer three, but a funky family of four!

Meet Missy Marlo! She is a 1.5 year old border collie husky mix and is a such a goofy girl. Everybody is her friend everywhere we go and we are so happy to call her ours! We have had her for three weeks and she has meshed into our family so well, we love her!

P.S - yes, Pedro and Marlo do look the same, we have a type, we are aware hahah.

Found this recipe on a cookbook from the 80’s called Stir Ups - it’s an Oklahoma cookbook from the Junior Wellfare of Enid!!! How fun right?? Working me way through some of my cookbooks recently, might share more 👀

She’s clean, she’s colorful, she’s not an ordinary BBQ brand. She has character and flair that I think barbecue brands should have!! Step away from that potbelly pig and chefs hat - we’re cooking for real now!

I loved getting to work with Kaitlin and create this set of branding for her - It will really elevate her brand and make her look like the real deal that she is!! If you haven’t eaten then what are you doing??? Follow her and watch for where she will be next, because it SURE is worth it 👀

A little sarsaparilla study on this Tuesday evening - just a few doodles to help me refocus while working at my computer 🤠

Coming out of traveling a bunch and getting back into working can always be a little challenging for my brain that isn’t used to working at my computer. Very thankful though that I am a creative for a living though so that I can doodle as part of my job to help me out 🥹
