GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Our Ops Supervisor will be responsible for managing the process of warehousing activities including providing leadership and development to supporting team members and contract labor. Additional responsibilities include work output, fiscal impact, and reporting requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Oversee the material receiving activities to ensure accuracy of materials received (e.g. what was ordered, correct quantities, undamaged, etc.)
• Manage daily staffing and effective resource allocation to maximize process efficiency - meeting or exceeding customer SLA’s while minimizing labor costs and meeting daily inbound/outbound schedule requirements.
• Maintain departmental metrics ensure they are kept current and accurate. Work diligently to learn, understand and be fully functional in all system platforms as it pertains to the departmental responsibilities.
• Support site 5’s practices and conduct required audits within the required intervals/frequency. Report findings in the required format and correct findings in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and work collaboratively with other departments, internal and external, to ensure that the facility as a whole can function as efficiently and effectively as possible. Provide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure both the department and facility meet and/or exceed goals in critical success areas (Cost/Quality, System Utilization, Health, Safety and Environment). Maintains Material Safety Data Sheet
• Track departmental budget and as applicable take appropriate actions to ensure that departmental budget goals are achieved.
• Drive Continuous Improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize Lean manufacturing tools.
• Drive 26' box truck upon request for offsite e-waste pickup.
• Problem solving and troubling shooting
• Improve the inventory accuracy based on Cycle Count and Inventory Control activities.
• Other duties as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred
• 3+ years leadership experience in a warehouse environment.
• Good interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as required.
• Understanding of how to apply Lean Sigma Methodologies.
• Effective motivation, delegation, and time management skills.
• Experience with ISO and with ERP/WMS systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to create and lead a supportive team-oriented work climate that enables business team members to develop professionally and that values diversity, promotes teamwork and collaboration and emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, creativity and cost effectiveness.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Moderate to high levels of noise.
