Stacey’s creative journey started in the kitchen as a pastry chef, but after being diagnosed with lupus, she had to step away from that career. Over the past few months, she’s been pouring that same creative energy into making art.

She may not be formally trained, but as Stacey puts it, she’s β€œjust a touched in the head creative person trying to make fun stuff.” And we’re excited to see exactly what that creativity looks like under the Studio Showdown clock.

Introducing our next Studio Showdown contender: Thomas Guadalupe 🎨πŸ”₯

Thomas is a painter with a strong foundation in traditional academic techniques. After beginning as a self-taught artist, he went on to earn his M.A. from Fontbonne University in St. Louis and further developed his practice through the study of painting traditions spanning the 16th through 19th centuries.

Now, Thomas is expanding that foundation through stronger composition and storytelling, bringing a more narrative approach into his work.

On Friday, September 25th, Thomas will put that experience to the test at Studio Showdown at the Angad Arts Hotel, with just 30 minutes to respond to a surprise prompt and create something completely original.
