A CompTIA survey found that more than half of small business owners spend significant time managing their own technology issues.

If that hits close to home, you're not alone, and you're not stuck.

SingleWave's Managed IT Services give you a full team of IT professionals watching your systems 24/7. Proactive monitoring. Fast response. No tech jargon. Just results.

Let's talk about a number most business owners don't think about until it's too late.
$5,600. Per minute.

That's Gartner's widely-cited benchmark for the average cost of IT downtime. And according to ITIC's 2024 Hourly Cost of Downtime Report, a single hour offline can cost mid-sized businesses more than $300,000 in lost productivity, missed revenue, and damaged trust.

Here's what stings most: the majority of downtime is preventable.

At SingleWave Technologies, we monitor, maintain, and protect your systems around the clock — so a downed network doesn't become a crisis that derails your week.

You didn't build your business to watch it bleed money on a problem that could've been stopped.

Let's fix that. Book your FREE consultation at singlewave.tech

How many systems does your team touch before lunch?

In a typical mid-sized company, employees lose 10–12 hours per person per week navigating disconnected software, manual workarounds, and tools that don't talk to each other. In a 20-person organization, that quietly adds up to $400,000+ in buried labor costs annually.

Nobody decided to build it this way. It accumulated. One SaaS subscription at a time. One spreadsheet workaround at a time. One "this is just how we do it" at a time. Until complexity became the culture.

At SingleWave, one of our core beliefs is simple over sophisticated. Complexity taxes growth. Clean architecture and documented systems don't just make IT easier, they make your entire organization faster, your onboarding smoother, and your people less tired.

We don't add tools. We reduce friction.

It's worth sitting with that question for a minute. Not because it's likely to happen — but because the answer tells you everything about your current risk level.

Customer data. Financial records. Contracts. Project files. Internal documents your team relies on every day. If those files only exist in one place, they exist one bad day away from being gone.

Hard drives fail without warning. Ransomware encrypts everything and demands payment. Employees accidentally delete files that took months to build. These aren't edge cases; they happen to small and mid-sized businesses every week, and most of them weren't expecting it.
A solid backup plan isn't complicated. It's a system that automatically copies your important files to a secure, separate location — ideally on a schedule you never have to think about. When something goes wrong (and eventually, something will), recovery takes hours instead of months.

The best time to set this up was before you needed it. The second-best time is now.

Protect what matters most. Learn how SingleWave can build a backup plan for your business at singlewave.tech.

It should be something you feel. In the quiet mornings, the smooth launches, the problems that never become problems.

Don't take our word for it. Take theirs.

There's a threshold usually somewhere around 85–90% full where a hard drive starts to seriously drag. The operating system needs breathing room to work: space to write temporary files, run processes, and save documents. When that space disappears, everything slows down.

The frustrating part? Most of the stuff in that storage isn't anything important. It's old downloads you forgot about. Duplicate files are saved in three different places. Software that got installed once and was never used. Videos from a project that wrapped up two years ago.

A quick monthly sweep, delete what you don't need, move archives off the main drive, empty the trash, can make a noticeable difference in day-to-day performance. It's the digital equivalent of cleaning off your desk. You didn't realize how cluttered it was until you could see it clearly again.
Your team deserves equipment that keeps up with them, not equipment they have to work around.

If you've ever nodded through an IT meeting pretending to understand, you're in very good company.

Executives with MBAs, CFOs with decades of experience, and founders who've built real companies, all tell us the same thing: they feel talked down to by their IT vendor. Acronyms they don't know. Proposals dense with jargon. Invoices with line items that no one can explain to the board.

So they nod. They sign. They hope for the best.

That's not a technology problem. It's a respect problem.

Our rule at SingleWave: if you can't explain it to the person paying for it, you don't understand it well enough yourself. Every recommendation comes with plain-English reasoning. Every proposal is written for decision-makers, not IT departments. Every invoice has context.

You deserve an IT partner who speaks your language, not one that keeps you in the dark to stay necessary.

Here's the uncomfortable truth: most business accounts that get compromised aren't hacked in any sophisticated way. There's no elaborate cyberattack. Someone just guessed or bought a weak or reused password from a list and walked right in.

Cybercriminals use automated tools that can test thousands of password combinations per second. If your password is a dictionary word, a name, a birthday, or anything you've used before on another account, it's a liability.

Strong passwords are long (12+ characters), random-looking, and unique to each account. That last part matters a lot. When one service gets breached, and passwords get leaked, attackers immediately try those same credentials everywhere else. Reusing passwords turns one breach into many.

The practical solution: use a password manager. Tools like 1Password or Bitwarden generate strong passwords and remember them for you. You only have to remember one master password. It's one of the highest-ROI security habits a business can build, and it costs almost nothing.
