Winning the battle daily!
I am so proud of this team at ADSi you cannot imagine. This week's challenge's included a problem with a slow down on a server. We got into the server and witnessed the performance, and it was painfully slow. We discussed options move them to the new, fix the current v of software, and the pitfalls of both approaches they had just been upgraded earlier in the year. So, a 2nd upgrade was not going to be an option.
Old ADSi would have thrown more server resources at the problem. It was not that, it was some code that had not been looked at in a long time. Well, our team dug in and built "timers from scratch" and dug into the millions of lines of code on NIBRS checker what was known as the. dig program.
This program was poorly conceived, even more poorly built, and poorly implemented. At noon team ADSi poured over line by line of this code and found 6 places that were not indexed right.
This ADSi team stuck with this problem tuned the software and I am happy to say got the clients performance better than it's ever ran. I am so proud of this team, and I know Bill would be proud of you too. Because Bill said if you write crummy code, you need be on support all the time. Write good efficient code and you will have very few support issues.
Bill was right about that. But in today's world it's not about support, troubleshooting issues. There is a man/woman out there in the world who is wearing a badge and a gun who says "I will protect you" tonight as you sleep peacefully in your bed. That slowdown could have caused a problem, a delay, that we could not allow. Playing it out all that matters is the caller on what could be their worst day of their life, or even more treacherous an officer on the side of the road. To ADSi they are the most important people in this world. Its why we do what we do to fix issues so we can keep our clients as safe as possible.
We have set a very high bar at ADSi and we will always strive for perfection in your eyes. Oh, I wished I could say it was the only thing we handled this week it was not. We will always do our best, to build the best for our clients and never rest until we achieve perfection.
Great day, great week, great win, thank you team ADSi you guys are the best in the business you impress me every day. I know you all make me proud; I know Bill must be smiling down today knowing we did an amazing job this week. Thank you it does not get said enough.
Just,
Mike
