I spent a few hours designing a glowing water-spirit character tonight. During feedback someone pointed out that the design unintentionally resembles a fairy from Zelda, so I’ve decided not to use the character in my final project out of respect for Nintendo’s intellectual property.

Still, it was a fun design exercise and a good reminder of how influential their worlds and characters have been to so many of us growing up.

Farewell, Corin. Back to the drawing board.

Nine years ago, the NVidia Titan Xp was launched at a price around $1400. However, during this time, many people were buying GPU’s for Crypto-Mining or buying to re-sell and gouge the prices. My motherboard, bought in 2015, is only a PCIe x3. I might still be limited without the new PCIe x5, but I can still push the boundaries.

Now, EBay has these GPU’s refurbished going for less that $400 and finally in my price range. Back then, mid-tier gaming and development put my current GPU (AMD VEGA 56) in a decent place. But if this GPU works as described, I go from 8GB to 12GB GDDR5 VRAM and the sheer speed and image quality will definitely be noticeable.

Still so proud of my sixteen year old computer. New upgrades when they come in:

Old Stuff:

- AMD 8GB Vega 56 GPU
Samsung 970 M.2 NVMe (Will still be used as M.2 NVMe Storage after complete format)

- Reallusion Suite (CC3, IC7, old content)

New Stuff:

Saying a hui hou (til we meet again) to my two booster boxes of One Piece Romance Dawn White Bottoms to help raise money for my projects. With these boxes + 4 Loose packs from the same set, I raised $3.3k. Ran into a lot of bugs today using Character Creator 3 Pipeline where it would crash when attempting to update/load texture to the skin at 2k Res and 4K UHD. It took a majority of my time to troubleshoot only to discover that it’s likely a compatibity issue with the headshot and other software-Addons updates that I had installed. But, we’ll circle back around tomorrow for more information. So, instead of hussin and fussin about it, I went ahead and pulled the trigger and got all of the software upgrades I needed (HeadShot 2, Character Creator 5, iClone 8, etc). I’ll have to trade in my Romance Dawn White Bottom Boxes. But it’s worth it. Who would’ve thought 1 box from $250 to now 1 box for $2k?!

Also, I spoke with a representative today from Canopy (Procedural Worlds) and was able to get hooked up with their flagship asset Gaia Pro VS! Wow! Much love and Aloha to you, braddah! I’ll keep your identity safe. Mahalo Nui Loa!
