ANIMAINE

ANIMAINE™ is an anime & gaming industry-oriented convention located in South Portland, Maine. The SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE - WE'RE BACK!

ANIMAINE™ will return to South Portland for its TENTH year! What makes ANIMAINE different than other conventions? ANIMAINE is an industry-oriented anime and gaming convention. The convention is a sort of testing ground for all kinds of new ideas. New panels, events, and technologies are tested at ANIMAINE to see how they might be used at other conventions. On top of that, we've got great guests lined up and an awesome hotel with one of the best room deals around. There are a limited number of rooms available (please call the hotel directly to book). There are other accommodations nearby as well. ANIMAINE will be held November 11-13th 2022, at the Best Western Merry Manor Inn & Convention Center in South Portland, Maine. Stay tuned for more announcements including guests, events, and our new mascot!

Our Third and final judge for ANIMAINE's Masquerade is Starsofcassiopeia

StarsOfCassiopeia (she/her) has been crafting award-winning mixed media cosplays & performances since 2007. Cass graduated from Harvard with a degree in Engineering and actively works in the 3D printing field as cofounder of Studio 3e8. She loves combining her professional design experience with historical design influences and elaborate hand-sewn detailing.
On the performance side, Cass is a longtime theater performer and backstage technician, and has also been training in fire spinning & circus arts since 2013. She also loves teaching: Cass has 7+ years of experience teaching panels at cons and additionally taught Intro to Making at MIT.
Additionally, Cass co-founded the cosplay commission-centric website Cosmosii.com.

Animaine's Masquerade judge #2 is Dannylion!
Cupcake Thief, Mother of Birbs, Queen of Salt
Medical Technologist by day, cosplayer by night, I have been cosplaying for over 10 years and am 30+ (now, now, we never ask a lady her real age!) I have been a lover of dressing up since I was little. Some of my fondest memories are of me convincing my mom to let me wear my cowgirl outfit to school (think sparkly denim, fringe, white cowgirl boots) or dressing up for every big or small holiday. My mom used to be super crafty alongside my grandmother and they would make TONS of outfits for me to wear. I remember one Halloween my mom made me Simba out of some yarn and the two piece matching Walmart sweat suits.

I started dressing up again on my own around 2011ish when I accidentally attended Dragon*con not knowing what comic conventions actually were. I initially went to meet up with some of my WoW guild mates for the first time and it ended up being WAY bigger than we anticipated.

Now that we are getting closer to ANIMAINE, let us introduce our masquerade judges!

GHOST (he/him) got his cosplay start in his grandmother's living room all the way back in 2009, where he gained the passion for making cosplays himself. He brought this passion to the stage for the first time in 2017, and continues to this day with multiple best in show, and best masters rewards, Priding himself on being completely self taught. Being a real life seamstress, he loves to bring out as much detail of the cosplays as he can with glitter, shine, and everything in between. He also has been part of the Cosidol group Idolized! Since 2016, fitting many performances under his belt
