Why has it become the norm to buy an $800 TV and when it breaks 3 years later to just throw it out and buy a new one without even trying to get it fixed? Here's one for all the classic audio enthusiasts. Two different versions of the Phase Linear 700b amp. One had a couple of bad transistors and capacitors. The other just needed new input jacks. I installed upgraded LED dial light panels in both of them.

"It's cheaper to just go buy a new one." I hear that all the time about electronics (specifically TV) repairs. It's true sometimes. If you have a cracked screen, go buy a new TV. It will be cheaper. Otherwise, it's worth looking into repairing your TV. I just repaired the 55" Samsung in the foreground for $85. A new one would be $398. The 55" Vizio in the background had a more serious problem but was repaired for $117. A new one would be $384. I wish you could hear over Facebook what this system sounds like. You can't beat a good 1970's receiver. The sound is so rich. I'm testing this one with some period appropriate music. Progress... Finally... It's been a long road. A LOT longer than I ever imagined. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Good progress is being made on the new shop, and I plan to be back open for business at my new location January 3, 2022.

Getting things packed up, trying to get my shop set up at home, all while doing "repairs on a limited basis". Have a shop full of TVs right now. Staying pretty busy.

IMPORTANT BUSINESS UPDATE:
As of Sept 1, 2021 we will permanently close our location at 610 W Danville St in South Hill. We are also temporarily suspending repairs while the repair shop is relocated to its new location. This is taking longer than expected and it will probably be the first quarter of 2022 before repairs return. Until then we will continue to support our existing customers. IMPORTANT BUSINESS UPDATE

As of today all inventory is sold. Going forward Wolfe's TV will be operating strictly as an electronics repair business. We will have limited days and hours of operation for customers to drop off items for repair and pick them up again.

Take a walk down memory lane. Remember back when you would go to the electronics store and in the rear if the store were aisles full of all kinds of electronic components and parts? We have freed all of our remaining parts from the confines of the parts drawers (we sold the parts drawers) and hung them out on the wall.
