Understanding where your company's money is actually going is the first step toward real savings.

TCGi's Deep Dive Spend Analysis uses proprietary tools to turn raw spend data into clear, actionable insights.

The goal is not a one-time fix but a foundation that continues to drive value for years to come.

If your team struggles to answer basic questions about vendor spend, contract terms, or pricing consistency, it may be time for a closer look.πŸ’‘

True cybersecurity is not only about firewalls and technical safeguards. It is about building a culture of trust and vigilance, and that is exactly what National Insider Threat Awareness Month is about. πŸ›‘οΈ

An insider threat is any risk that comes from someone inside an organization, whether that harm is intentional or accidental. It could be an employee who falls for a phishing scam, or someone who misuses their access on purpose. Both put a network at risk.

The strongest defense relies on a few connected pillars. Increased visibility helps our workforce notice unusual behavior. That visibility empowers people to speak up, which fuels early detection. Early detection allows a team to mitigate risks before they cause real damage. πŸ”

Together, those actions build deterrence, making risks less likely to take root at all.

You've probably heard the word "hacker" a hundred times. In cybersecurity, professionals usually say threat actor instead, and it's not just fancier language.

A threat actor is any person or group behind a cyberattack, whether that's:

πŸ” A lone hacker looking for an easy target
πŸ” An organized cybercrime group running ransomware as a business
πŸ” An employee misusing their access

The term matters because it's broader and more accurate. Not every attack comes from a stereotypical β€œhacker in a hoodie.” Some of the most damaging breaches start with someone who already had legitimate access.

Understanding who you're defending against is the first step in knowing how to defend against them. Different threat actors have different motives, methods, and targets, and that shapes everything from your security training to your incident response plan. πŸ›‘οΈ

A fake vendor invoice led to one click, and that one click shut down a physical therapy clinic's systems for a full week. πŸ“‰

The clinic had served its community for over 15 years, but hundreds of patients still had their data exposed in the breach.

Phishing doesn't require a sophisticated hacker. It only takes one unnoticed click.

Lunaris would have helped detect and block malicious attachments. πŸ”’

Today is Women's Equality Day, a day to recognize progress and to be honest about what still needs to change.

Our CEO, Avis Yates Rivers, has spent her career pushing for one thing above all: representation. In an interview with The Glass Hammer, she shared how young Black girls need to see themselves in tech roles to believe they can pursue them, and as an entrepreneur, Avis is treating that underrepresentation as a problem she can help solve.

That is exactly why representation matters at every level, from leadership to opportunity. TCGi is proud to be WBENC certified and recognized among the 50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned Companies, and Avis herself is an EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist in New Jersey. πŸ™Œ

And through the TCGi Foundation, we're investing in the next generation through awarding scholarships to women pursuing careers in tech so more young women can see themselves in this industry, and know they belong in it.

Meet Benjamin Thompson, our Sales Support Specialist here at TCGi. πŸ™Œ

In his role, he plays a key part in supporting the sales team and helping ensure customers have a smooth, positive experience.

Outside of work, Benjamin is a serious fragrance collector with over 100 bottles in his collection, a hobby his father sparked in him with the saying that β€œwhen you smell good, you feel good.”

Fitness is a huge part of his life and he works out six days a week, calling it his own version of Gym Therapy that keeps him strong in both body and mind.

Home for him will always be Opelousas, Louisiana, where the food, the music, and the family gatherings mean everything, and he makes it a point to bring seafood gumbo to the table every time he visits in the fall and winter.

When asked what makes TCGi special, Benjamin points to servant leadership and trust, sharing that he feels supported and empowered to grow, learn, and lead every single day. 🀝

One phishing email led to two weeks of unauthorized access inside a small law firm's document system. Small firms are prime targets for cybercriminals, not because they lack sensitive data, but because they often lack the security protections larger enterprises take for granted. πŸ”“

Most people picture a cyberattack as a single dramatic moment. In reality, it's a fast-moving sequence, and understanding each stage is the first step to stopping it. ⏱️

At 27 seconds, the fastest lateral move occurs. Once an attacker gets in, the clock starts. This is the record time it's taken to move from the initial entry point to spreading across a network.

29 minutes is the average breakout time. This is the typical window before an attacker breaks out of that first compromised device and starts reaching other systems. Less than half an hour to go from "one machine" to "the whole network."

You only have 4-5 days until encryption. Here's the part that matters most for defenders: attackers usually don't strike immediately. They wait, explore, and quietly map out your systems for several days before triggering the actual ransomware payload.

The takeaway? The break-in happens in seconds. But there's often a multi-day window where the attack is happening quietly, undetected, and that's exactly when the right monitoring can catch it before encryption ever happens.

That's the gap Lunaris is built to close. πŸ›‘οΈ

Back to school also means back to hacking season. πŸŽ’

Every fall, school districts become prime targets for cybercriminals: new devices, new logins, overwhelmed IT staff, and thousands of students and faculty creating fresh entry points for attackers. Ransomware attacks on K-12 schools spike every September and October, and the disruption can shut down entire districts for weeks. πŸ–₯️

But it's not just schools. If your business is scaling, hiring, or rolling out new systems this quarter, you're facing the same risk. New employees mean new phishing targets. New devices means new vulnerabilities. New software means new gaps hackers love to exploit.

Growth is a good problem to have, but it shouldn't come with a side of ransomware. πŸ”’

Lunaris gives you real-time monitoring, next-gen antivirus, automatic updates, and secure backups, so every new hire, device, and system is protected from day one.
