Here is the link to my Grandpa’s obituary. It’s hard to find the words, but while we grieve that we must carry on without him, we find comfort in knowing he is healed and with our Lord.

“A giant pine, magnificent and old
Stood staunch against the sky and all around
Shed beauty, grace and power.
Within its fold birds safely reared their young.
The velvet ground beneath was gentle, and the cooling shade gave cheer to passers by.
Its towering arms a landmark stood, erect and unafraid,
As if to say, "Fear naught from life's alarms".

It fell one day.
Where it had dauntless stood was loneliness and void.
But men who passed paid tribute - and said,
"To know this life was good,
It left its mark on me. Its work stands fast".
And so it lives. Such life no bonds can hold -
This giant pine, magnificent and old.”

Billy Joe Stephens, 86, of Snyder, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 12, 2024. Mr. Stephens was born on June 15, 1937, to Wilburn and Ollie Mosco Stephens in Panama, Oklahoma. After marrying the love of his life, Joyce Stephens, on August 31, 1957, Bill and

Bill and Joyce Stephens, their daughter Laura Davis, along with the rest of their family, would like to say a special “thank you” to our community. The closing of a chapter in life is always bittersweet but we would be remiss if we did not take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for all the good memories, ours and yours alike, that will forever be connected to Stephens Office Supply & Printing.

In 1966, Bill and Joyce began Stephens Office Supply in their garage, and then spent the next 56 years building a business that has been an integral part of Snyder and the surrounding area to this day. They have had the pleasure of employing numerous members of the community and would like to thank each of them for their part in the history of Stephens Office Supply as well.

This business has been a huge part of our lives and we hope you know how much we appreciate your part in it. It has been a pleasure and we are so grateful.

The printing services and the building were purchased by Chris and Michelle Bird of The Blessed Nest and will be operating under Feather Printing. We congratulate them on their new venture and wish them a successful future.
