We are deeply saddened to announce that Tim Bardon, our Director of Business Development and a true pillar of ATCO and his community at large, has passed away. Tim’s warm energy, kindness, and willingness to share his knowledge and experiences left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of working with him over his nearly 50-year telecommunications career. He will be remembered as an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, friend, mentor, and leader. His superpowers were making everyone he spoke with feel special, always keeping a levelheaded approach, and bringing a positive attitude to every situation. His impact on ATCO and his colleagues will be felt forever, and the company wouldn’t be where it is today without him. No words can properly express how this loss will affect us all. If you have any fond memories of working with Tim, feel free to share them below. He will be dearly missed, but we will ensure that his legacy lives on. May he rest in peace. Please send your regards and thoughts to his family in this difficult time.

Most states’ BEAD proposals have been approved✅ by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration ! Check out this Telecompetitor article for a comprehensive list of where each state’s BEAD funds are being allocated!

Updated Wednesday, April 22: Oklahoma's final BEAD proposal was approved by the NTIA. 48 states have now had their final proposals approved.

We were saddened to hear that Jim Brooks, a former GTE/Verizon employee and friend and mentor to many at ATCO, recently passed away. Jim was an influential mentor and leader to those who worked with him. He was stern but also treated everyone with kindness, viewed his team members as family, and had a real passion for hunting, hosting, cooking, and sharing his telecom knowledge. Jim would often host team barbecues at his home and would even challenge his team members to regular “cook-offs” to see if anyone could outcook him. Even after his retirement, he would meet up with his old work friends for an annual dinner to catch up on everyone’s new life events. Jim Brooks was a great man who will be dearly missed. May he rest in peace and live on through the memories of everyone whose lives he touched.
