Two visual directions. Too many ideas. Not much time. 😅 The MVP forced us to answer a better question than “which design do we like more?”

We hit that moment almost every product team eventually knows: “Wait… does this already exist?” 😅

Once we looked much more closely at the competition, we found far more apps, approaches, and solutions than we had seen at first… And strangely, that didn’t kill the idea.

It made it harder.

Because we stopped asking only “how do we build this?” and started asking: “Why should our version exist?”.

Research, competition, contradictions, rejected names… and one small existential crisis later, we’re starting to find the answer.

Last time, we showed you how we built our Workplace Routine Questionnaire. 📋

Now comes the interesting part: what happened when the answers started coming in. 👀

We began with a hypothesis: maybe a virtual companion or mascot could motivate people to take more breaks during the workday.

The responses didn’t give us a simple “yes” or “no.”

Instead, they started pointing us toward a bigger question: how do you encourage someone to pause without interrupting their concentration or making wellbeing feel like another obligation?

We’re also comparing those findings with how similar apps approach reminders, movement, gamification and virtual companions. We’re still analyzing the results. 🔎

Hypothesis → evidence → iteration. 🔄

Before building, we’re trying to understand the behavior first. 🔎✨

We created a workplace routine questionnaire to learn more about how people experience long periods of sitting, interruptions, and breaks during their workday. 💻

Our current hypothesis: what if a virtual companion could make short breaks more motivating by turning them into visible progress? 🐾

The first responses are coming in 👀, but we’re not interpreting them yet. This is just a small look behind the scenes at how we’re researching the problem before deciding what to build.
