iPhone and iPad are at High risk
PROBLEM
Hackers have found a way into Apple devices (iPhones and iPads). They can get all your contacts and take control of your device.
ACTION TO TAKE
You MUST update your device to 26.2 to fix this issue.
To update the software following these instructions:
1. Open settings
2. Tap “General”
3. Tap “Update Software”
4. Download and install the 26.2 update.
Please note: while you may have your device on auto updates, it may not update. My iPhone did not automatically update. I had to update it manually.
ADDITIONAL ACTION
Also, I use Mobile Security from Bitdefender. I run it at least once per week. It checks your OS for iPhones and IOS for iPads. You can get a free version. However, If you purchase Bitdefender for your computer, you get five devices, which includes Mobile Security for your phones.
Last, I am not fond of the new look and feel. Although I talked to some people that love it. Some new features need your attention. For example: if a call comes in and the caller is not in your contacts list the caller is considered spam. This feature is not a good feature for my business. So, you have to go into Settings >> apps >> phone, and scroll down to the new settings, read what they do and make a decision how you want your phone to respond to incoming calls. I tried one, then realized it caused new customers and valid incoming calls, (e.g., doctors who use other extensions than the main extension) not to get through the first time. Whereby, not leaving messages and me missing calls.
IN CONCLUSION
You MUST UPDATE to 26.2 in order to be safe. You may or may not like the new update. I would recommend getting virus protection on all your devices (computers, laptops, iPhones, iPads). I even have virus protection on my router. I had someone try to hack into my router yesterday (1/19/2026)
