Two cultures.
One person.
All business.
Growing up Mexican-American in the Midwest meant learning to move between worlds before I could even name what that meant. It shaped how I build brands today — with an eye for who gets left out of the "polished agency" look, and a commitment to making sure my clients never are.
Today is National Latina Day (yes, it's a real one — created in 2015, not some made-up hashtag holiday).
Here's to every Latina building something from nothing, in rooms that didn't expect her to walk in.

I haven’t shared much of my own work here lately, but this felt worth celebrating.
𝗜’𝗺 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀.
Running a small design studio, Marisa Gonzales Studios, LLC., means I spend most of my time focused on my clients—their goals, their audiences, and the challenges their brands and websites face. It’s easy to move from one project to the next without pausing to recognize the work behind it.
This nomination gave me one of those rare moments to stop and reflect.
I’m proud of the strategic, thoughtful, and accessible design work I’ve created for my clients, and I’m incredibly grateful to the people who have trusted me with their businesses, organizations, and ideas.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵.
Mother’s Day can be beautiful, complicated, tender, heavy, joyful, or all of the above before breakfast.
So today, I’m holding space for all of it.
For the mothers building businesses.
For the daughters missing their mothers.
For the women mothering their families, communities, clients, teams, and dreams.
For those celebrating.
For those grieving.
For those who need the day to be quiet.
So many women I work with are carrying more than people can see. They are leading businesses, caring for others, making decisions, solving problems, and trying to build something meaningful without completely running themselves into the ground.
If that’s you, I hope today or sometime this weekend gives you a little room to breathe.
You do not have to earn rest by being useful first.
Take one thing off your plate today if you can. Even a small thing counts.
