Hi all!

Please join SEACUG every third Thursday of the Month for discussions of advanced technologies/emerging trends, which covers all topics related to Cisco from Voice, Video, UCS, Security, Routing and Switching to the latest topics on collaboration with other network professionals. Below are the topics to be covered in the coming months:

October 20th, 2016 Topic:
This month's topic will be on the Meraki Platform, and their will be a raffle for an MR18 Meraki AP with a 3 year cloud license. This session will focus on the ability to quickly and easily deploy cloud managed networks. See how Meraki firewalls, switches and wireless access points can help lean IT shops become agile, while increasing visibility into the network. So, attend for a chance to win the AP, but more so to hear all about the fascinating Meraki appliances.

We will review IOS configuration and provide guidance on IOS standardized configuration to help meet the requirements of SOX/PCI/HIPPA, and best practices in general. This is a practical guide to how to configure IOS with security.

Presented by Bryan Madche
Systems Engineer, Cisco Systems.

SEACUG June Monthly Meeting Agenda:
Please join SEACUG every third Thursday of the Month for discussions of advanced technologies/emerging trends, which covers all topics related to Cisco from Voice, Video, UCS, Security, Routing and Switching to the latest topics on collaboration with other network professionals.

This month's topic is Network Security Baseline. Developing and deploying a security baseline can be challenging due to the vast range of features available. The Network Security Baseline is designed to assist in this endeavor by outlining those key security elements that should be addressed in the first phase of implementing defense-in-depth. The main focus of Network Security Baseline is to secure the network infrastructure itself: the control and management planes.

This presentation will outline the key security elements identified for Network Security Baseline, along with implementation guidelines to assist in their design, integration, and deployment in production networks.

We will review IOS configuration and provide guidance on IOS standardized configuration to help meet the requirements of SOX/PCI/HIPPA, and best practices in general. This is a practical guide to how to configure IOS with security.

Presented by Mack Nethkin

Senior Solutions Architect, Denali Advanced Integration.

As a consultant for the past 6 years, Mack has worked with customers throughout the Washington/Oregon region providing network security solutions to meet the needs of business.

Please join SEACUG every third Thursday of the Month for discussions of advanced technologies/emerging trends, which covers all topics related to Cisco from Voice, Video, UCS, Security, Routing and Switching to the latest topics on collaboration with other network professionals.

This month's meeting is OpenDNS.
Most organizations do not consider securing DNS resolutions of their workforce even though 91% of all Malware campaigns relied on DNS to function in 2015. Examples of DNS abuse include phishing, dropper, drive-by, and exfiltration domains.

This session overview demystifies DNS as a security vector and explains how OpenDNS can secure an organization from Malware threats without any on-premise equipment. Additional bonuses include blocking web content categories at the DNS layer and securing mobile employees from man-in-the-middle as they travel.

Also available for home use, this session will explain how attendees can create their own free accounts to take advantage of these capabilities.
