Raised in the mean streets of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Nothing scarier than a bunch of middle class kids with sticks in their hands and something to prove. Scary times.

A quick break down of the most recent apparel badge for Kid Hockey. The original sketch was further broken down to include some lettering that gives it a playful look and feel. I played a bit with the final result and liek anything is it ever truly finished. Let's call it 90%. You can check out more of that project on my behance, and if you're looking to build out your next project. Get in touch. https://www.behance.net/gallery/255678121/Kid-Hockey-brand-development

A quick breakdown of the design. I usually use sketchbook images, then import and trace the image. I like the more rough look that a traditional analog sketchbook gives, but for quick designs ill use the Sketchbook for efficiency, and i can usually bypass the erasing smudges left behind from traditional pencil and paper.

With Lucha Taco, I wanted to create more than just a logo—I wanted to build a fully realized brand with its own energy and personality. I used bold, character-driven illustrations throughout the identity to bring the concept to life and create a fun, playful, typographic, illustrated brand experience.

I started making fonts a few years ago. I love the challenge of making fonts. I think it's an invaluable design project that forces you into design areas that a perfect for developing strong design, creative, layout, problem solving, balance, repetition skills. Mostly these will arise form a project im working on and I'll just sit down and continue to flesh out the remaining symbols and letters. I strongly recommend to anyone looking for areas to help develop design skills to build a typeface.

The 4 Nations concept jumped out at me the moment I saw the three lines in the ice as a Roman numeral IV. That bold, simple graphic became the foundation of the entire visual direction. From there, I designed the assets to work within that same aesthetic, building a cohesive system rooted in strong form, clarity, and impact.

Inspired by those who wake up early on Saturdays, frozen ponds and lakes in the winter, the smell of fresh chips in an old rink, countless hours of after school street hockey, the lumps, bruises and scrapes that came from not giving a crap. Kid Hockey is to that rambunctious kid in all of us.

An earthy exploration for the Krooked Font . In the development of this font i was able to come up with a very cool continuous line drawing for the Shaka. Thought this was prett unique look at the infamous hand gesture. Thanks for having a look. Stickers soon.
