PF 2025 Positive Feedback Writers' Choice Award by Myles Astor, "2025 Positive Feedback Writers' Choice Award:

Realism is the operative term here. As good as the previous Realization cable line was, the new Ovation line with Kubala-Sosna's latest OptimiZ4 architecture is simply in a league of its own. (Revelation is a better name for the new cable line.) So special that it's like inserting a new component into the system. Ovation cables were one of two products I heard this year that clearly lessened the artificiality and coloration present in recordings. The Ovation cable's transparency, low end and low level resolution are extremely impressive; but it's the speaker's cable ability to balance out that ratio of fundamental to harmonic overtones that sets this speaker cable apart from several other speaker cables that have passed through my system this year. My new reference. And yours."

Beginning at the end of 2003, Positive Feedback established its first annual awards for fine audio. The Brutus Award was established for the best that David Robinson and Dave and Carol Clark had heard in their own listening rooms during that year. You can think of it as our equivalent of an "Editors...

Dr. David Robinson, PFO, on high-end cables,

"But sitting up at the mountaintop? Sui generis?

Gotta be Kubala-Sosna with its Realization line of reference cables."

"You know, the role of high-end cables in a fine audio system is too often overlooked. Those who don't pay attention to cables... or who dismiss its effects completely (truly ignorant/stupid, that)... simply don't get it.

Those who get it, get it.

I have been paying attention to cables for nearly 40 years now. Once I became aware of the serious difference that fine cables made, I no longer had any questions on the subject. It was just a question of which cables, not if cables. And there are some brilliant cable companies out there: for example, Cardas Audio, TARA Labs, Synergistic Research, Double Helix Cables (headphones), RSX, and Skogrand all come to mind immediately. I'm sure that I would think of others if I spent a bit on the subject.

But sitting up at the mountaintop? Sui generis?

Gotta be Kubala-Sosna with its Realization line of reference cables.

I had spent years with the earlier reference, the Kubala-Sosna Elation! cables, which remain very fine in my audio memories.

But then, years ago, Joe sent me a single sample of what was then their new reference, the Realization.

As I've learned with Kubala-Sosna over the years, adding one length...especially of the Realization...definitely brought a greater ease and naturalness...an increase in the sense, ironically enough, of the cable disappearing. With each additional length of Realization, that impression increased.

But the transformation to full glory, of the entire cable network dropping away, occurs when the last piece of the cable is Realization. Strangely enough, Realization hits its full stride in its vanishing act only when the entire loom is Realization.

GTT's reference Room #1 is completely cabled this way, and this is how I heard the Moya M1's. My own reference stereo listening room is likewise equipped with a loom of Realization cables. In both cases, the sound of the system was completely transformed by the catching away of the cables. Astonishing.

But it's particularly with the Moya M1's that the sui generis achievement that the Realization cables represent was confirmed.

Kubala-Sosna's achievement confirms that high-end cables are a true and complete component in an audiophile system...no less.

And Kubala-Sosna's Realization cables take their place at the mountaintop. Not cheap, but utterly transformational, particularly in a complete loom.

You've been informed!"

Honored to be part of the GTT Audio Room 1627, winner of the 2023 Axpona "Best in Show" Award from Myles Astor of Audio Nirvana!

Complete Review from Myles Astor (Audio Nirvana):
Bill Parrish (GTT Audio) asked after finishing spinning the last of my three LPs (Yello: Oh Yeah, 45 rpm maxi single; Jimi Hendrix Blues [Classic Records]; and Mel Torme and Friends at Marty's) whether I had any other records that I would like to hear on the big rig. After all, it was Sunday and am sure he was tired of hearing the music he had brought. Truth is I did and would have liked to stay and hear more music on this outstanding sounding system; it was, however, the last day of the show and there were still a lot of rooms to cover before the show doors closed at 4 pm.

Let me get to the point. This was the first time Bill was showing his new Vivid speaker line and arguably the best sound he has ever had at Axpona. Hands down. And Bill has an unsurpassed reputation for getting good sound at Axpona.

The first thing that struck me about the system was its immense soundstage. Oh Yeah filled the room with sound and the density of recording and the tracking was laid out in all its glory. Without detracting from the enveloping musical experience. The system's transparency was also outstanding; even the smallest details in the back of the soundstage were faithfully recreated. The dynamics of Hendrix's guitar On Blues, and the intensity of which he played each note was superbly rendered. (As my guitar teacher says, guitarists rarely explore how loud a guitar can play.) Bass for a show was really well controlled. This was definitely a system where the synergy among all the components was on full display. And the contribution from Kubala-Sosna's newest Realization cable line couldn't be minimized. Kubala-Sosna are a staple of of Bill's systems and they always sound good.
