What does a ski resort have in common with many professional AV environments? A lot of network traffic, and very little room for connectivity issues.

A recent Netgear Business case study on Appalachian Ski Mountain highlights how networking infrastructure supports far more than guest Wi-Fi. Hundreds of devices are connected across the resort, with peak periods bringing approximately 1,700 to 1,800 Wi-Fi users.

The network also supports safety cameras, back-office operations, dining, administration, equipment rental workflows, and outdoor operations.

For professional integrators, the takeaway is familiar: when connectivity sits underneath critical systems, network infrastructure has to be designed for the environment, the device count, and the demands placed on it.

It is an interesting real-world example of how network reliability can directly support the overall customer and operational experience.
