“Fallen Knight”

When I was a child, Batman: The Animated Series was a huge part of my life. I was six years old when the show first aired in 1992, and has been a primary source of my inspiration ever since. Bruce Timm’s incredible “dark-deco” styling, the characterizations, Shirley Walker’s brilliant score, and most importantly the stellar voice acting led by the recently passed Kevin Conroy ignited the creativity and the artist within me. Conroy was so powerful in the role that he continued to voice the Batman for three more decades across TV shows, animated movies, video games, and more.

I spent so much time as a child learning how to draw in Timm’s style, and I’m honored to have met Kevin Conroy in 2019 at a local Comic Con.

Conroy was gone way too soon, but his legacy will live on.

My second necklace!

My Danish (“Viking”) shipmaster character needed a bit of aquatic pop so I wanted to make a second necklace with teeth. I couldn’t find sharks’ teeth that I liked that were the right size, so I opted for using some scrap bits of wood and carving and painting/staining to look like teeth.

Overall I’m VERY pleased with the result.

And now for something completely different!

A recent hobby (read: obsession) of mine has been my local medieval faire, where I’ve become a member of their fight cast.

My Danish (“Viking”) shipmaster character needed a bit of aquatic pop so I carved this rune out of poplar and attached it to some braided leather cording.
