A study comparing self-guided ultrasound training with traditional instructor-led teaching found something interesting:

Medical students using SonoSim improved their knowledge twice as much as those in instructor-led sessions (+10% vs +5%) with strong ratings for effectiveness, engagement, and understanding.

While students still value instructors, this shows that high-quality simulation can deliver comparable outcomes while making ultrasound education more scalable and accessible.
