Does a "warrior" have to look a certain way? Straight? Male? Tough on the outside? This Pride Month, that question has come roaring back—because on June 3rd, right as the month began, the Administration announced it would rename the US Navy Ship Harvey Milk, because, they want to “reestablish the warrior culture.” 🤔

We celebrate heritage months year after year—with events, flags, and hashtags. But this is the year we find out what they’re really about, and who we are as a people.

Will we stay quiet when one of our most powerful institutions tries to erase the names of civil rights leaders—not despite Pride Month, but during it?

Or will we finally stand with a community that has served to defend our honor, because their honor is in at risk now, and this country is big enough to honor all who’ve served it?

🔥 Over a 100 years later, Tulsa is taking action to right a historic wrong. For the first time, there’s real movement to address the devastation of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre—one of the deadliest racial attacks in U.S. history.

Tulsa’s Monroe Nichols (the city’s first Black mayor), just announced a $105 million reparations initiative to invest in the city’s Black community. It’s called the “Road to Repair.”

This isn't about assigning blame to individuals today (read further about this)—or even about money. Its about acknowledging the wrong that was done, and starting the healing process, not just for the Black community, not just for the People of Color, but for all of America. 👏
