After twelve cities across the country, Thala-Us Synapse 2026 concluded in San Francisco.

This stop brought programs, health system leaders, and the tech community together to talk about what's actually changing GME right now.

New investment is opening doors that didn't exist a few years ago, leadership development is starting to shape who steps into these roles next, and recruitment itself is being rebuilt with the support of new technology. San Francisco also carried reflections from sessions across the earlier stops, tying the tour's conversations together in one place.

In each city, the academic medicine community never stopped showing up, and that's what made the tour worth it.

Houston's stop at Thala-Us Synapse took on a lot at once: the physiology of human performance, AI's growing footprint in recruitment, and the everyday work of building and leading a program.
