πŸ’‘TUESDAY'S TIPS # 11 - THINK BEYOND THE PHOTO!

Who says every calendar page needs a photograph?

Some of the most creative fundraising calendars use something completely different to tell their organization's story.

🎨 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS - Feature student drawings or artwork.
πŸ–Ό ART SCHOOLS & ORGANIZATIONS - Showcase paintings and other creations.
🌱GARDEN CLUBS - Share seasonal planting advice, gardening tips or monthly garden inspiration.
πŸ‘₯ COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS - Feature an inspiring quote or message each month.
β›ͺ CHURCHES & FAITH BASED GROUPS - Highlight meaningful scripture passages throughout the year.

Your calendar should reflect what makes your organization special. Get creative and think outside the proverbial box!

πŸ“†FUN FACT FRIDAY

Did you know... before standardized calendars, many people tracked time by the weather and the harvest? 🌞🌽

Long before printed calendars hung on the wall, people knew it was time to plant, harvest or prepare for winter by watching the seasons, the skies, and the changing weather.

Around this time of year they didn't need a calendar to know it was August, they just knew it was HOT! πŸ₯΅

Thankfully, today we have calendars to keep us on schedule... and air conditioning to keep us cool.

πŸ“… WHAT ARE THEY UP TO WEDNESDAY

This week's spotlight is on the Missouri Valley College Dance Team, one of the many inspiring organizations we've had the pleasure of working with through Calendar Fundraising.

Their mission is to pursue excellence in dance, leadership, and teamwork while representing Missouri Valley College with pride, integrity and Viking spirit.

The program is made up of two outstanding teams:
πŸ’™ Viking Line – competitive and game day
πŸ’™ Valley Girls – game day

Throughout the year they bring energy and school spirit to football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and wrestling while competing at National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics competitions and Dance Team Union. Congratulations to the team on an outstanding week at Universal Dance Association camp where they earned:
πŸ† Team Superior in evaluations
πŸ† Superior in Game Day evaluation
πŸ₯‰ 3rd Place in Fight Song (Open Division)

We're so please to know that their Calendar Fundraising project funded their end-of-year banquet, giving the dance team an opportunity to celebrate another successful season together.

A special thank you to Head Dance Coach, Kristen Revis for choosing Calendar Fundraising and allowing us to have a small part in supporting your program.

Help us congratulate the team on their recent accomplishments or share your favorite memory of Missouri Valley Dance in the comments.

πŸ’‘Tuesday's Tips # 10

Want local businesses to help pay for your Fundraising Calendars before they're even printed?

Think beyond selling ad space. Invite businesses to become community partners by sponsoring a specific part of your project.

⭐ PRINTING SPONSOR - help cover the cost of printing your calendars.
πŸ“¬ POSTAGE SPONSOR - support the mailing costs.
βœ‰οΈ ENVELOPE SPONSOR - help provide the large envelopes needed for delivery.

Businesses appreciate getting recognized as community partners, not just advertisers.

The less you spend on printing and incidentals, the more your organizations keeps for your mission.

FUN FACT FRIDAY

Did you know...fundraising calendars stay front of mind for your supporters all year long?

Unlike flyers or post cards, calendars are used day after day, keeping important dates, family memories, and community events front and center.

It's one reason calendars have remained a favorite fundraising product for generations.

Everyone knows someone who needs to raise funds. Great fundraising ideas are even better when they're shared. If you know a sports team, animal rescue, art program, dance studio or any non-profit looking for new fundraising ideas tag them below or share this post. Together we can help more communities thrive. πŸ’š

πŸ“… WHAT ARE THEY UP TO WEDNESDAY

This week's spotlight is on the EDWARDS' SYNDROME ASSOCIATION , one of the many passionate communities we've had the pleasure of partnering with over the years.

Rather than telling their story for them, we'd like to share it in their own words. Robert and Jeanna Polacek who created the Association's fundraising calendar, graciously shared their experience with Calendar Fundraising and the impact the project had on their organization.

In 2024, we purchased just over 50 calendars, and in 2025 that number grew to over 150. Each year this fundraiser and awareness campaign has continued to grow. Because the calendar features individuals with Trisomy 18, families get excited to submit photos and then purchase calendars to display in their homes, offices, and other places. It's such a fun way to celebrate these extraordinary individuals while also raising awareness.

The Edwards Syndrome Association does not make a significant profit from the calendars, as they are primarily intended to be an awareness initiative. With that in mind, we truly appreciate your reasonable pricing, which allows us to make a small amount from each purchase while still keeping the calendars affordable for families.

The Edwards Syndrome Association exists to advocate for equitable medical care, advance education, and strengthen support systems for individuals living with Trisomy 18 and their families. We empower caregivers through trusted resources, professional engagement, and collaborative partnerships that enhance healthcare navigation and community inclusion. Our board is made up entirely of parents of individuals with Trisomy 18 who are passionate about improving care and outcomes for this community.

To learn more about Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18), please visit: https://edwardssyndrome.org/

To everyone in the Edwards' Syndrome Association community, family, friends, volunteers, and supporters we'd love to hear from you. Share a message of encouragement, a favorite memory, or tell us what this incredible community means to you.

Tuesday's Tips # 9 from Calendar Fundraising

CREATE EXCITEMENT BEFORE YOUR CALENDAR EVEN BEGINS!

One of the best ways to build excitement about your calendar is to invite your supporters to help create it.

"HELP TELL OUR STORY" - Community Photo Challenge.

Ask your supporters to submit photos that celebrate your organization's mission and the people, pets, places, or moments that make your community special.

Here are few ideas to get you started:

🐾 Animal Rescues - Rescue pets, adoption success stories, or favorite furry friends.

⚽ Sports Teams- Action shots, team spirit, and unforgettable game day moments.

🎡 Music & Performing Arts - Concerts, rehearsals, performances, and behind the scenes moments.

❀️ Community Organizations - Volunteers in action, community events, and the people who make your mission possible.

🌼 Garden Clubs - Beautiful gardens, seasonal blooms, and favorite landscapes.

🎨 Art Schools - Student artwork and creative projects.

Then make it even more fun...

Invite your supporters to vote for their favorite photos on social media.

Each vote build excitement, encourages sharing and keeps your fundraiser in front of your community long before the calendars are printed.

When the finished calendars arrive, everyone will be excited to see which photos were selected.

And remember...
Your calendar isn't just a fundraiser, it's your community's story.

What Are They Up To Wednesdays

Every Wednesday we celebrate the passionate communities we've had the privilege of partnering with.

This week we're proud to highlight the Indiana State Spirit Squad also known as the Sycamore Spirit Squad. They are much more than a cheer and spirit program. According to Indiana State University, they are a valuable asset to University's athletic and music programs while serving as ambassadors for the University both on and off campus.

We were honored to partner with the Sycamore Spirit Squad on their custom fundraising calendar and we celebrate organizations like theirs that strengthen their communities every day.

Know someone connected to the Sycamore Spirit Squad Community? Share this post and let them know they are being celebrated for the wonderful work they do.

Tuesday's Tips From CalendarFundraising.com

A successful fundraiser starts with a great sales plan.

Tip # 8: Plan Your Sales Before You Order

Before you place your custom calendar order, think about how and where you'll sell your calendars.

βœ… Pre-sell your calendars to build excitement, estimate demand, and generate early sales that can help fund your calendar order.

βœ… Plan for upcoming events like sporting events, pet adoption days, church services, school performances, festivals, and community gatherings. These are perfect opportunities to reach new supporters.

Order enough calendars so you are ready for every selling opportunity. You never want to sell out too soon!

Think ahead about the events where you'll be able to sell your calendars. A little planning now can lead to a smoother fundraiser and more calendars sold.

Save this post for when you are ready to start your Calendar Fundraiser.
