You are here to start earning money?

There are lots of things to learn when you first sign up with SFI, and I know it can be too much information for a lot of people. But if you are truly interested in building your own home based business, then you have to get excited about this program and what it can do for you.

So, what is the first thing you need to do to start off on the right foot, so to speak, with SFI? And no, it isn’t sell something or recruit someone into the business. And it isn’t reading all the wonderful and amazing training we have here.

I believe the first thing you need to do to be successful here, is Show Up For Work, every single day.

You don’t mean 7 days a week do you? Yes I do. If you can go on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and the dozens of other social media sites and play games, post a tweet, share a picture, or like a post, you can log in to SFI and at the very least, complete your daily tasks. That means turning the red tabs green by reading the information in each section and clicking the appropriate button or link to earn the associated VP (Versa Points) for those tasks.

After all, aren’t you here to start earning money? Well, if you don’t show up for work to learn how the program is set up, how can you ever learn to make money here? It is the most important task of your home business day, because if you can’t or will not do that, you will not earn any money here. Plain and simple.

And if you are not able to log in one day for whatever reason, okay it is not the end of the world, but do not make one day into two, and then stretch to three, and so on. Habits are very easily formed, and most difficult to break. Start a new habit, one that will put you on path to success and financial freedom.

Log in, read and learn. At the very least, maybe 20 minutes a day, if you are really busy with something else. Otherwise stretch it into an hour by reading some forum posts, or reviewing a Launchpad lesson or a Rule of Success.

And just how can you earn money here after you start learning the program? In most if not all industries in the world, sales of something is how you generate revenue; and if the revenue is higher than the expenses, you make an income.

But I don’t want to address the mechanics of selling just yet….because a lot of people never even make it that far. Most people just say I can’t sell anything; I am not a salesperson; I don’t like selling, and so on and so on.

Realistically though, we are all natural born salespersons. Don’t believe me? Well, if you like a post on Facebook, your friends will probably see that in their stream. What you have done is recommended that video, or picture, or whatever it is you liked, as something that your friends might be interested in. At the end of the day, the bottom line is, that is selling. Same thing when you tell someone about some clothing you bought, or a movie you saw, or event you went to. You are selling that to those people.(You gotta see this movie - it's fantastic!)

Now, maybe you don’t get paid for your recommendations, but you are still selling something to them, even if it is for free. If you never shared, or commented, how would people learn about whatever it is you liked? Recommending products to people based on your experience is no different – except maybe you will get a commission from letting them know about it!

Selling a product is simply sharing your experience with it. And if you have long list of friends, maybe, just maybe, someone will be interested.

So, really, we are all salespeople, in our own way. We are selling something every single day, all the time. It might be free, it might cost money, who knows? But we are sharing something, and that ladies and gentlemen is selling.

Therefore, I ask all of you who are truly interested in earning income here, to embrace the fact that you are a salesperson; that you are very effective at it; and that all you really need to learn are the mechanics of how to do it.

This is the welcome message that I have on my leadership page, and it has been there since SFI introduced them.

“Building a business is about building relationships. If you have family or friends that might be interested in joining your team, ask them. You already have a trust built up with them, and people will usually buy products or services from someone they trust!”

The only difference in building your business, is that you need to find more “friends” or customers.

must-read post
Posted 6 days ago
A long time ago, in 1972, when I was 15 years old, I got my first taste of direct sales marketing. I saw an ad in the newspaper on how to make money selling How To books. Only being 15, I didn’t have much money, but I did have a part time job, and so I sent away for the book. What I got was a book that basically said, go to the library, research information on how to do something that other people might want to know about, like car mechanics, and use that research to write the book. Then you would have to advertise in the classified section of papers wherever you could afford to.

Well, I didn’t follow the advice at the time, because I was just too young to understand what it really meant. And I really didn’t have the money to advertise. However, the point was made to find something you would be interested in and write about it. Today, you can do that so much easier, using blogs. You don’t have to pay anything to print a book, with hundreds of copies. Just post your blog. At least that is a way you can get started.

All of us have something in our lives that we are very interested in; something that we are probably very good at, and enjoy working at. Like cooking, or playing a musical instrument, or maybe a car enthusiast, or maybe you do knitting!

Doesn’t matter what it is because more than likely, other people are interested too. And maybe you have information, tips or tricks to help people do something better, or enjoy that activity even more. These days, that is the point of a blog. Write about something that excites you, that gets your blood moving, and keeps you interested in doing it.

If you have that passion, you can share it and help other people. And, then you can advertise a few products from time to time on a blog that relate to your hobby. In todays’ world, that is called finding your niche…and we all have one, or two, or maybe three.

Now it does take time to build an audience; but the best time to start is now. I would suggest if you don’t already know what you might like to blog about, take a few days to figure it out. What do you really like to do? What are your interests? What are some fun things in your life that truly interest you.

Once you find that out, and start writing a few things down about it, you can then start to find some products you can advertise with your blog.

There is no sense trying to sell something you are not really passionate about. If you don’t care, why would potential customers care, and buy? They won’t. They will just move on to something else.

Now, for those of you who will say I can’t write good enough, or whatever, I would say this: Practice with short paragraphs about something. And it really doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be sincere, and truthful, and hopefully, interesting. Start off with a problem that some people might have with whatever you write about, and then provide a solution. Draw upon your experience, or better yet, google your idea and see if anyone has posted questions somewhere on the internet, and then you can answer them. Become a problem solver on your blog; people are always looking for answers to problems they have.

And maybe some of the problems people have can be solved by products that you can advertise for sale! Be real, be honest, be truthful, but most of all, be yourself!

Remember, you are already an expert salesperson; you do it every day. Become a problem solver, and you now have the basis for an interesting blogging site. And if you really hate blogging, a video blog site might work better. More about that on another post.
