Mustafa is a 28-year-old Azhar graduate who opened a small shack in King Mariout selling foul (beans) and falafel sandwiches. He received a micro-grant from our organization to launch a breakfast program for local elementary and middle school students. This initiative serves as an incentive for students to attend school, with Mustafa offering half-priced or free sandwiches to low-income children if they attend the school day. The program is designed to become sustainable (increasing the popularity of Mustafa's food offerings), while it ensures students receive protein in the morning, which helps them concentrate better on their studies. Thisis an example of a community-based solution that combines entrepreneurial spirit with social welfare. It not only supports a local business owner but also directly addresses childhood nutrition and education, demonstrating how targeted micro-grants can foster sustainable, positive change within a community.
