A10 Networks Product Manager Luca Labardini breaks down what the A10 AI Firewall actually protects against by default.

Coverage includes prompt injection and jailbreaking attempts, sensitive data exfiltration and accidental leaks, and toxic or policy-violating AI outputs. Threat detection maps in real time to the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, MITRE, and NIST, giving security teams actionable context rather than raw alerts.

As generative AI embeds itself into enterprise workflows, organizations need visibility into what their models are doing and control over what they expose. Purpose-built AI security delivers both.

By 2027, 40% of enterprises are expected to decommission AI agents because governance failed to keep pace with deployment.

Treating all agents the same is the core mistake. An agent reading documents and an agent modifying configurations are completely different risk profiles, and identical controls either slow delivery or create real exposure.

The risk comes from the permissions granted to it. Proportional governance that matches oversight to autonomy is how organizations stay ahead of that exposure.

The U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology finalized its first post-quantum cryptographic standards in 2024, and organizations need to act before quantum computing catches up.

"Harvest now, decrypt later" attacks see adversaries capturing encrypted traffic today to decrypt it once quantum computing matures. ACOS 7.0.3 addresses this by supporting hybrid KEMs that pair classical and post-quantum algorithms.

Threat actors have stopped experimenting with AI. According to Google Threat Intelligence Group, they are now using it to develop exploits, create malware, and probe targets more persistently and at a greater scale than ever before.

Google's AI Threat Tracker report highlights autonomous malware that can interpret victim environments and generate actions through AI models, alongside nation-state actors validating thousands of exploits at machine speed. Defenders responding in human time are already at a disadvantage.

Web application security is now a board-level priority as applications, APIs, and AI systems dramatically expand the attack surface. Strong API security best practices are critical as APIs expose core business logic and sensitive data.

In this blog post from A10's Jamison Utter, we cover the range of best practices enterprises must focus on to secure their web apps and APIs. https://bit.ly/4doQDG9

Carpet-bombing DDoS attacks spread traffic across dozens of IPs in the same subnet, keeping each flow just low enough to avoid triggering per-IP detection while the upstream link saturates and the whole subnet goes down.

A10 Defend Threat Control recently captured one in real time. Defending against it starts with detecting at the subnet level and correlating events across time windows, not just individual IP alerts.

Business logic fraud continues to evolve as attackers adapt to traditional detection methods and automate abuse at scale. Referral fraud, account creation abuse, and promotional exploitation often blend in with legitimate user activity, making them difficult to detect with standard controls alone.

A10's Gary Wang examines a real-world scenario of referral fraud. He explains how dedicated bot management and ThreatX inline behavior analysis work together to identify and stop malicious activity in live environments.
The combination of behavioral analysis, request inspection, and application-aware protection helps organizations detect fraud patterns earlier and reduce abuse without disrupting legitimate users.
