D-coupons are fabricated alongside the production PCB and subjected to thermal cycling while electrical resistance is monitored. Cross-section analysis then provides a closer look at the plated interconnects.

🩻 When the targets are buried inside the stackup, drilling takes more than coordinates.

Gorilla Circuits uses X-ray drill technology to detect internal-layer targets and optimize reference-hole locations before drilling.

This gives our fabrication team a way to account for what’s happening inside the multilayer board, including the effects of material movement and layer-to-layer registration.

It’s a sophisticated step in the fabrication process, and an important one when you’re working with complex multilayer designs.
