You can't think your way out of reactive mode while you're still in it. That's what makes it so hard to escape.

The volume of work isn't going anywhere. Emails, escalations, urgent requests pulling from every direction. That's just the role.

But HR professionals who operate proactively have a clear sense of their own priorities, systems that don't collapse under pressure, and the confidence to shape their agenda instead of just responding to everyone else's.

That's a skill set. And it can be built.

Veteran tech executive Larry Dunivan, who joined 15Five’s board in January 2025, has been appointed Executive Chairman.
