We love influential women in tech!

Did you know, in 1843, Ada Lovelace realized that Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine, a steam-powered programmable computer, could perform an extensive sequence of mathematical operations? Computer historians regard an example she wrote of one sequence—how to calculate Bernoulli numbers—as the first computer program.

The second Tuesday in October is now Ada Lovelace Day to honor the contributions of women to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
