Real world problems. An elderly gentleman from Piedmont called and asked if I could help him with his TV audio. He is losing his hearing and has to turn the volume up very loud just to hear it. Meanwhile, his wife can't stand the TV being so loud. So, I came up with a solution of using a Bluetooth transmitter hooked up to the TV audio for his Apple AirPods while the regular audio goes through a Denon receiver. I was able to make it work with a little finesse and there is peace in their house once again! I think that this will become a more prominent problem as we all get older. I enjoyed solving this problem for him!

Winter NAMM in Anaheim which normally happens in January has now been rescheduled for June 2022 and will happen in Anaheim. Summer NAMM in Nashville is now cancelled.

The 2022 Winter NAMM show has been rescheduled to June 2022, and will take place in Anaheim, California.

Yesterday I did a microphone shootout for a customer looking for a large diaphragm condenser microphone. I found a gold limited edition AKG c414 ULS that was brand new in the box. This was in the inventory from R&M Pro Audio when they went out of business. This microphone is from 1997 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of AKG and is #26 out of 100 made. I might keep this in my private collection.

Today I installed a zone control, whole house audio system in a beautiful home in the Oakland hills. The client called me a month ago to purchase some NAD CI720-V2 Network Stereo Zone Amplifiers with the rack. His contractor ran all the speaker wires to Focal speakers throughout the home, but didn't label any of the cables. First, I identified all the cables and labeled everything. Then, I installed one of the amplifiers which I have never used before. There is a CAT5 cable that hooks up to the hub, AC power, and the speaker cables for left and right connected with a Phoenix connector.

I downloaded the NAD app called BluOS and it immediately recognized the amplifier. I was able to rename it DINING ROOM and could select from a variety of online music sources plus analog audio via RCA connectors or digital audio via a TOSLINK cable. Once I added another amp, I could create a group with a couple of amps sending the same signal to different zones. You can control them individually or as a group.

I like using the dbx ZoneControl system, but this is another great Zone Control system that could work for both home or a commercial environment.

I sold a microphone kit to a customer that is doing a documentary on moving this Victorian house. I think that this is the lot next to the Shell gas station on Franklin.

A historic Victorian house standing alone near the corner of Franklin and Turk Streets will be moved to a new home on Sunday morning after nearly eight years of planning.

Yesterday I went to Monterey to deliver the ESP Metallica James Hetfield Iron Cross in Snow White guitar and it was an absolutely gorgeous day. Restaurants were open for outdoor dining. New California is starting to open up again.
