Tray has been named a Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for iPaaS.

We’re proud of that recognition.

But the bigger story is what this year’s Magic Quadrant reveals about the direction of the market.

For two decades, integration platforms were built to move data between systems. That model powered the SaaS era.

Today, enterprises are building something very different: AI-infused workflows, autonomous agents, MCP interoperability, and data pipelines that support AI reasoning.

That shift is redefining what enterprises need from iPaaS.

Tray CEO Rich Waldron explains why in our new blog: https://bit.ly/4bvEXit

For years, enterprise data infrastructure assumed pipelines were stable. You built them for reporting, refined them over time, and ran them on schedule. Predictable workloads and predictable costs.

AI breaks that assumption.

AI creates constant, cross-system data demands. New joins, new transformations, and new sources come weekly, not yearly. What used to be background plumbing becomes operational infrastructure, and that’s where the AI supply chain starts to choke.

Legacy ETL tools were never built for that level of change. They are:

🔸 Too slow to spin up
🔸 Too complex to maintain
🔸 Too expensive when pipeline demand multiplies

And they sit disconnected from agent development, which creates friction exactly where enterprises need velocity.

Today we’re introducing Data Engineering inside the Tray AI Orchestration platform, unifying in-flight data preparation with AI agent development.

At the core of it is the new SQL Transformer, which lets teams reshape, join, and transform bulk data in-flight using ANSI SQL directly inside their workflows. No bolt-on ETL systems, row-by-row gymnastics, or external worker infrastructure. This means:

🔹 New pipelines can be built in hours, not weeks
🔹 Data transformation and agent development happen in one system
🔹 Costs remain predictable as workloads scale

From raw data to intelligence, all in one flow.

To close out our series on how AI is reshaping work in 2026, we asked Tray’s Product Director, Tom Walne.

His take: product teams are about to move much faster, and that will change how PMs and engineers work together.

PMs will prototype more, ideas will get tested in days, not quarters, and roadmaps will flex.

But the fundamentals don’t change. Talking to customers, doing the research, and applying judgment still matter.

In a nutshell: 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐮𝐩 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬.

How do you see product teams changing in 2026?

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐈 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 2026?

We asked this question to a few people at Tray to understand how AI is already reshaping day-to-day work across different roles.

We’re kicking things off with Tray CEO Rich Waldron. In this clip, he shares how AI agents are changing how he operates. From speeding up decision-making to pushing teams to rethink processes instead of layering AI onto old ways of working.

How is AI changing the way 𝘺𝘰𝘶 do your job in 2026?

Being “early” with AI agents doesn't mean rushing to production. Early adopters are succeeding because they are taking the time to understand how the pieces actually work.

In this clip, Apollo shares why they were ready to adopt agents early. They had already built deep automation muscle with Tray, so when agents emerged, they focused on exploration first: Understanding tool triggers, defining guardrails, and breaking work into repeatable chunks.

That foundation made the difference. Watch the clip to hear how they approached it.

We asked our AI agents what they listened to all year…

They actually answered.

These are the songs that powered them through tickets, PTO requests, and everything in between.

See who picked what.

The year’s wrapping up, but December isn’t slowing down. Here’s where to find Tray before everyone everyone disappears into “let’s regroup in January” mode:

📍 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐀𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝟒𝟎% 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐓 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

🔹 With HudsonLogic, we’ll show how AI agents and modern integration bring connected, AI-ready inventory operations, reducing manual work and improving forecasting and fulfillment.

Close out the year with ideas you can put into practice...when we all regroup in January.

When Podium looked at their onboarding, one thing stood out: users needed working integrations up front, not weeks later.

With Tray, they built flows that deliver value on day one. That shift changed everything about activation and retention.

Most “AI for sales” tools give you more data. They rarely take work off the rep.

Luke Smith shows what a 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 agent looks like.

A daily briefing that surfaces pipeline health. ✅
Flags stalled deals. ✅
Drafts outreach. ✅
Logs activity in your CRM. ✅

Built in Tray Merlin Agent Builder, this agent focuses account executives on the deals that matter instead of the admin that slows them down.

Most “AI dashboards” stop at summaries. This one takes action.

See how a data analysis agent built in Merlin Agent Builder:

✔️ Pulls data from Salesforce, HubSpot, Redshift, and web analytics
✔️ Analyzes campaigns, NPS, and at-risk opportunities
✔️ Auto-creates a live Grafana dashboard

No more manual pulls or CSVs. Just a single agent bringing all your data together and then acting on it.

AI agents are projected to drive $6 trillion in economic value by 2028. (Yes, trillion…with a t 🤯)

But without governance, that growth could come with serious risk.

As enterprises race to adopt MCP, shadow servers and tools are multiplying across the stack, often without IT oversight or compliance controls.

That’s why we built Tray Agent Gateway: to give IT one managed environment to build, version, and govern MCP servers and tools with the same rigor that API management brought to cloud integrations.

Learn more about how enterprises should be thinking about MCP governance in this article from Mike Vizard: https://bit.ly/48MJRrQ
