Dear Clients, Creative Communities, Fans, Friends & Family,

With heavy hearts, and primarily due to the emotionally and financially draining pandemic, the IH Studios Printshop journey has reached a crossroads, and closed its doors today.

As an essential business that remained open in the pandemic, we served a dwindling clientele as the San Francisco Financial District grew eerily quiet outside. Most of the work force were given leave to take operations home (many, permanently), but we worked every day (as scary an enterprise as that was), with virtually nothing coming in. We shared this fate with other businesses, and saw many fall away around us. Now, as the world slowly recovers, we find ourselves too deep in a hole, and ultimately arrived at this difficult decision.

We’ll deeply miss having a headquarters where we “hung our hats” and where our work lived and breathed. We celebrate the support of our clientele and their challenging projects that inspired unique creative solutions, as well as learning the intricacies of an industry that, slowly but surely, became second nature. A huge shoutout goes to the individuals, organizations, small businesses and corporations that have remained loyal to us and have supported our growth over the course of the last four years.

But because of you, there is a silver lining. As members of a creative industry blessed with a generous network of people who supported and have always believed in our efforts (through both their sustained patronage of our fledgling establishment and through the rescue funds of our recent GoFundMe campaign), we’ll return to our roots in independent publishing of our original work, which we know intimately, love dearly and look forward to revitalizing, and incidentally took a backseat in recent years.

It’s not the end, we’re just closing a very difficult and important chapter. We hope you’ll stay with us as we turn the page.

Some fresh comics ready to go! With right around the corner, we're here to help with any last minute printing needs. From prints to business cards and of course comics.

Thanks again for choosing to print Essex Chapter One with us. If you're attending this weekend, make sure to stop by their table and check out all the great stories they have to offer. As always we love working with you and love supporting all local creatives.

We're grateful to be doing what we do and more so because of the amazing support everyone has shown us during our campaign. There are other ways to help out like choosing us for your printing needs or even sharing our posts.

to the first collaborative piece we worked on. This was a fun round robin art jam highlighting all the new characters introduced in . Long before having our own space, we would all meet up at various coffee shops. The one place that turned into our regular spot was the Fog Lifter. Wonderful space to work, delicious food, and of course great coffee. And the reference for the illustration! Immortalizing it forever within our artwork seemed like the best tribute to such a wonderful place.

Sadly our humble coffee shop didn't survive the onset of the pandemic. We're lucky enough to have made it this far. And even luckier to have people in our corner rooting for us. We still need the help and even a little goes a long way, from supporting our campaign, checking out our books, getting something printed, and even just sharing our posts.

Always love looking at our wall of art. This was something we inherited when we took over this space way back when. Ever since we've been updating it with new amazing pieces that pass through our printers. It's a great reminder that the work we've done was not done alone. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for the incredible and talented people that surround us. Thank you everyone. It's still rough, but we'll keep chugging along. There's still much work to be done.

We’ve so much through the years and sure do hope to keep that forward momentum that’s taken such a hit these last two years. Our two of were met with local acclaim and even had distribution that reached overseas when we began this machine, with healthy support again from our , , communities of creatives and advocates of the such as ourselves. Our attended events to help promote our growing catalogue as we kept creating and bringing on new and writers and only dream to continue in whatever way is physically, emotionally and financially possible. We have so much for the tremendous help in the last two weeks of launching this , and are eternally for continued . Any help is huge, and we hope you and yours are surviving this difficult economy too.

We have so many in our corner… all of you , and personal who’ve not only know our printshop, but also follow our arm, which has been severely affected, threatened and virtually halted by the wide-reaching pandemic. Our hussle was fierce before all this, advocating and from across the globe, and for our self-published books, presenting them at local and major , local events, public exhibitions and cultural or community gatherings, to show the world our brand of … and we have so much more to tell. We hope you’ve enjoyed our work so far, and we hope to someday pump the gas back into our self-publishing in a big way again… after this really tough time subsides (fingers crossed). We thank you for every donation, and no contribution is too small to come to our much needed
