🟰 Captions aren’t just accessibility tools. They’re equalizers. 🟰

That’s what Ava provides Deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Equal access to learning.

In today’s classrooms, learning parity means every student receives information — at the same speed, with the same accuracy, and with an equal chance to completely understand.

And that’s why 99% accurate, real-time captions are becoming the gold standard across universities, and it's what's becoming the industry standard if you track related accessibility law suits.

When captions meet clarity, accessibility transforms into confidence and empowerment… and students win.

The Actor Who’s Transforming Deaf Visibility on Screen

Troy Kotsur has been on a roll — from his chilling turn as a villain in Black Rabbit 🐰 to his mystical role as a psychic on Foundation. Check out our interview to see how his career has evolved since CODA.

And did we mention, Ava was used on the set of CODA.

What we may have not mentioned is Ava is cropping up all over Hollywood with yet another soon-to-be-released movie where Ava was used on set (and in post production) but that’s enough of a tease for one day. Stay tuned. We'll tell you all about it soon.

Standard hearing tests aren’t cutting it for millions. Here’s why and what to do about it.

Deafness is considered by some as a hidden disability. A recent study from Harvard Medical School scientists at Massachusetts Eye and Ear reveals a different invisible disability called “hidden hearing loss” or cochlear synaptopathy.

It stems from noise exposure, aging, middle ear infections, and some medications — all too familiar conditions for too many people.

That means that doctors may need to be more rigorous when conducting hearing tests. And patients should be vocal if they notice having difficulty hearing in situations with background noise or struggling with their hearing but still getting flagged as normal in standardized hearing tests.

What’s important to know is that addressing hidden hearing loss early will help with secondary effects such as cognitive decline.
