If your calendar controls you … flip it.

Try this:
✔ Block “Focus Time” daily ✔ Add travel buffers between meetings ✔ Change default meeting lengths to 25 or 50 minutes (not 30/60)

These small tweaks deliver a massive productivity boost.

IT that gets attention only when something breaks, isn’t strategy. It’s survival mode.

Here are 5 warning signs your technology might be fragile:
You hear from IT only when there’s a problem
Passwords are shared in emails
No one knows when equipment should be replaced
Backups haven’t been tested
Employees complain about slow systems

Technology should reduce stress, not create it.

If even two of these feel familiar, it may be time for a reset!

Your security is only as strong as your weakest vendor.
✅ You locked down your systems.
✅ You trained your team.
✅ You have MFA on everything.

But what about: ❓ Your email marketing platform ❓ Your cloud backup provider ❓ That random app Karen from accounting swears is "really helpful" ❓ The third-party tool with access to ALL your client data

One of the biggest breaches in recent years didn't happen because the company got hacked. It happened because their EMAIL VENDOR got hacked.

Questions to ask BEFORE giving a vendor access:
What data do they really need?
What are THEIR security standards?
What happens if they get breached?
Can we limit their access to only what's necessary?

You can't control their security. But you CAN control who you trust with your data.
Not sure which vendors have access to what? Let's audit it together. Call (619) 367-8617 for a free discovery call.

Red flags that email isn't from who you think it's from:
🚩 Your CEO suddenly texts like a teenager
🚩 "Urgent" "ASAP" "Don't ask questions"
🚩 They're asking for gift cards (???)
🚩 DocuSign request from [email protected]
🚩 Vendor's bank info "changed" via email
🚩 Your gut saying "this feels off"

Pro tip: Your CEO is not going to fire you for taking 30 seconds to verify a weird request.

Your CEO WILL be upset when you wire $50K to a scammer.

Before you click, send money, or share info:
Check the actual email address (not just the display name)
Call the person directly (don't use contact info from the email)
Ask yourself: "Am I being rushed?"

If yes → slow down, If no → verify anyway

Gift cards are for birthdays, not business expenses.
Want to train your team to spot these attacks? Book a discovery call at (619) 367-8617 and we'll help.

How a cup of coffee can take down your entire business for 4 hours:
☕ Coffee spills on laptop 💻 Laptop makes a sound laptops shouldn't make 🤔

⏰ Everyone waits ⏰ Everyone keeps waiting ⏰ Productivity has left the chat

The mistake isn't what hurts. It's the STALL that follows.

No clear next step. No idea who to call. "Maybe Dave knows?" (Dave's on vacation.)

Prepared businesses recover in 10 minutes. Everyone else loses an entire afternoon.

Here’s how to avoid the mistake in your business: https://www.beanstalkcomputing.com/?p=3998

Having a backup is great. Knowing it actually WORKS? Even better.

Plot twist: About 30% of backup systems fail when you need them.

Not because they stopped running, but because nobody ever tested if they could RESTORE anything.

It's like having a fire extinguisher you've never checked. Feels safe until the moment it matters. Then you find out it's empty.

Quick test: Pick one random file. Try to restore it from backup.

If you can't do it in under 10 minutes, you don't have a backup plan. You have backup theater. 🎭

When was the last time YOU tested your backups? Let us help. Call (619) 367-8617for a free discovery call and backup assessment.

We all have that "Remind me later" story.

Except sometimes that story ends with ransomware.

Set updates to happen automatically overnight. Your future self will thank you.

Your current self might be annoyed. But your hacked self would be WAY more annoyed.

Not sure if your systems are up to date? Let us do a quick check. Call (619) 367-8617 for a free 10-minute discovery call.

Phishing attacks jump 28% during tax season.

Not because hackers get smarter in March.

Because everyone else gets busier.

They don't need you to be careless. They just need you to be stressed.

The emails look EXACTLY like normal business:
❌ "Resend your W-2s, something didn't come through"
❌ "Our bank info changed, update it here"
❌ "Urgent signature needed on this document"

Speed is where mistakes happen. Slow down for 10 seconds. Hover. Verify. Call. Find out best practices in our latest blog here: https://www.beanstalkcomputing.com/?p=3992

Standing in line for 3 hours to get a Labubu: normal behavior

Spending 30 minutes documenting your IT systems: "we don't have time"

The difference between having a disaster recovery plan documented and not?
- Minutes instead of hours
- Boring instead of dramatic
- "That was handled" instead of "OH GOD EVERYTHING'S ON FIRE"

Go ahead and collect Labubus, but also collect functioning IT systems.

Both bring joy. One keeps your business running.

Need help documenting your disaster recovery plan? Call (619) 367-8617 for a free 10-minute discovery call.
