This week, Cohero honors Medicolegal Death Investigators (MDIs) who serve their communities around the clock, every day of the year. Often called the last responders, MDIs investigate sudden, unexpected, and tragic deaths—providing professionalism, accountability, and clarity during some of life’s most difficult moments.

MDIs face challenging and often traumatic scenes, investigating deaths of all ages and types while carrying the vital responsibility of conducting thorough, unbiased investigations. They work closely with other responders, such as police or Emergency Medical Services, and grieving families, balancing compassion with essential medicolegal duties. As advocates for the deceased, MDIs demonstrate resilience, integrity, and unwavering commitment. This profession requires attention to detail, emotional strength, objectivity, and the ability to perform under pressure—often without recognition.

During Medicolegal Death Investigator Week, we thank and honor all MDIs for their vital work and lasting impact. Your dedication to each case and family truly makes a difference.
