We're NOT in the business of selling computers and we NEVER mark up any parts we sell. Our story...
"San Diego's Original Macintosh Guru" Todd Davidson started the company in a downtown loft in 1996, mostly repairing Macs, building websites and FileMaker Pro databases. By the turn of the millennium he amassed a fairly large list of clientele, having earned a solid reputation by word-of-mouth refer

rals. He became a go-to consultant for some IT departments with mixed network environments who's technicians weren't trained to get the Macs to talk with the PCs. Business continued to pick up so in 2002 he moved operations to an office in Kearny Mesa. Over the next 9 years Mac Guru branched out, offering new services like Internet Hosting, iPhone App Development, and Remote Backup. But in 2010 giant corporations like Amazon Cloud Services suddenly devoured these markets, making it very difficult for small businesses to compete. So Todd decided to cut the overhead and concentrate on what he loves best, fixing problems and personally communicating with customers. In 2011 he packed up the servers and moved out of the office to work from home. He now works by appointment only which affords him much more individual time with clients. This has also made for a much happier Guru. WHAT WE DO:

•Upgrades, RAM & Solid-State Drives. Make your old computer run better than new for a fraction of the price of a new computer! (Average price for a RAM and SSD upgrade including data transfer is about $400.)

•We make sure you can open your transferred files. Other service providers just transfer your data, but we make sure you'll be able to open them on a modern system. We are even able to convert VERY old files such as AppleWorks, Microsoft Entourage, Word Perfect, or even Claris Emailer!

•Troubleshooting, problem-solving, bug-squashing.

•Networking and WiFi. Home or office, we have extensive experience with small and large network setups.

•Connecting all your devices together. (iPhone, iPad, iMac, MacBook, Watch, and Smart Home Devices (Apple HomeKit/HomePod, Amazon Alexa/Echo/Ring, Google Nest, etc.)

•Data Recovery

WHAT WE DON'T DO:

•Cracked Screen Replacement
•Water Damage
•Used or New Computer Sales
•Rentals

This is what the inside of a 2010 iMac looks like with a new solid-state drive. We installed 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, and macOS High Sierra in this old iMac and the customer was giddy with happiness.

"…the next time you click on a YouTube video, you’ll know exactly how it gets from a server in the cloud to your computer. It might seem absolutely effortless—and it usually is on your part—but now you know the truth: there are deadly 4,000V DC submarine cables, 96 tonnes of batteries, thousands of litres of diesel fuel, millions of miles of last-mile cabling, and redundancy up the w***o."

Wow, $3,400 for 10 MB? At those rates a base model 16 GB iPhone would run you over $5,000,000. And that's not counting for inflation.
