MVP Service Techs was hired to help with the electrical work on a remodel of a home on Padre Island. We have completed the 'rough' phase of the electrical and now we are awaiting the other trades to complete their work so we can return and do the 'finish out' phase and close out the job.

Piece of equipment we use at the Air Force Base, used to liquefy solid asphalt based material to seal expansion joints in concrete. Melting point 480*, Oil temperature 450*, Application wand 380* = Long Day!

Sorry folks for being away so long; we have been truly blessed and have been extremely busy. Time to refocus and update.

We have been at Lackland Air Force re-sealing expansion joints on the Taxi Ways on the Kelly side of the Airfield. This time we are using what they call HOT POUR a special blend of Asphalt Sealer. This project is Phase II of a 3 Phase project. It initially started out as a 48,000 linear foot Phase and has already been approved to expand that number.

As you can imagine, with this South Texas Heat it can be quite challenging to function outside. The ambient temperature can easily reach 108* degrees at the airfield and the cement surface reaches 127* degrees on especially hot days. Couple those with the equipment we use that must maintain a temperature of 480* degrees in order to liquefy the solid asphalt sealer, will lets just say it makes for long days.

We take all the necessary steps to protect ourselves from the heat and our very thankful for cloudy days as one can imagine. We have inadvertently become test subjects for good Sunscreen!
