NCCDC is entering its next chapter! UTSA/CIAS is transitioning stewardship of the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition to the National Cyber Readiness Foundation, a new independent nonprofit led by long-time NCCDC contributor Alex Levinson. Please visit the new home for NCCDC at https://ccdc.io and update your bookmarks.

The immediate priority is continuity for the 2027 season, the regional network, students, schools, volunteers, and the national NCCDC community.

No immediate major changes to regionals, qualification, or the core educational mission are being announced today. Future modernization will be developed through consultation with the community.

Thank you to UTSA/CIAS for years of stewardship and to the volunteers, regional leaders, coaches, sponsors, alumni, and students who built NCCDC into a national institution.

Over two intense days of competition, these teams demonstrated what it truly means to defend critical systems under pressure: navigating evolving threats, maintaining operations, and making strategic decisions in real time.

Their performance reflects not only technical excellence but the collaboration and determination that define the next generation of cybersecurity leaders.

The competition has begun! We’re proud to kick off Day 1 of the 21st Annual National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC) and recognize this year’s Top 10 finalist teams:

Over the next two days, these teams will defend enterprise networks against live, simulated cyber threats—testing their technical expertise, teamwork, and decision-making in real time. These students represent the future of cybersecurity, and we’re excited to see them rise to the challenge.
