The Def-Logix team attended the Alamo ISSA AI Offensive and Defensive Panel Tuesday, and a few things kept coming up.

AI does not need to be perfect to be useful. 99% accuracy still beats inconsistent human workflows in a lot of cases.

But "the AI went rogue" is not a defense. Organizations are still accountable for what their systems do.

The real conversation in cybersecurity right now is not whether to use AI. It is how to use it responsibly: with human oversight, audit trails, and governance that can actually hold up under scrutiny.

AI is a force multiplier. The teams that treat it that way, and build the guardrails to match, are the ones that will stay ahead.

Tech Day San Antonio was one of those events where a few things really clicked.

A lot of the conversation around early-stage companies kept coming back to founder conviction. It felt less about the idea itself and more about whether investors actually believe a founder can take it from point A to point B.

There was also a strong emphasis on how quickly teams are willing to fail and pivot. Not in a surface-level way, but in how that mindset actually shows up when building and scaling a company.

“Smart money” came up consistently as well. Being intentional about who you bring in and making sure they are aligned with the long-term vision, not just short-term returns.

The scaling conversations and local case studies were especially valuable. There is no single playbook, but there are clear patterns in how strong teams approach growth.

It was also clear that San Antonio continues to build real momentum in cybersecurity. Military City USA is proving to be a meaningful advantage in that space.
