HELLO EVERYONE!!
We sincerely apologize for our abrupt disappearance and very long hiatus! Makayla and I (Ryan) have been incredibly busy and overwhelmed with life this past year.
As you all may or may not know the two of us are the founders/owners of Shadow Realm. The idea for Shadow Realm Cards & Collectibles originated as a small arcade, specifically, an outlet for me to express my passion for arcade machines. We wanted to open a place to play and win, while having fun. (You all may have seen bits and pieces of that passion within the store). But somehow, in a crazy turn of events the business ended up as a cards and collectibles shop. Crazy right!? Our priority during our operation was affordability, availability, and community. Offering a large inventory while staying as close to market price as possible. We are so very thankful for all of you, and we will NEVER forget the community that we all built together.
Unfortunately... the owner of the building at the time of us being in it, could not perform the proper maintenance required. We ended up falling victim to the issues of the building, feeling like we were stuck in a bad situation. Issues were painted over, and it was not in any condition to be rented (this was not disclosed when we signed the lease). And when we were offered a way out we decided to take it. We searched for months for a new building to continue the business but ultimately there was just no availability. We are so thankful for all of you who tried to find us locations during that time, you're all so amazing. Makayla and I eventually decided to close it up, focus on our careers, regroup, and recover.
So here we are now. We are SO excited to announce our original plan, our dream, and our passion, is real and alive! Shadow Realm Arcade is open for business at Rolling Oaks Mall in San Antonio, Texas! We are located inside the food court at this lovely mall that hosts frequent events and conventions. If you ever get a chance to check out our arcade, PLEASE let us know what you think! This is our new identity, and we would absolutely 100% LOVE to bring something like this to San Angelo. We will be in and around town frequently and with Makayla considering continuing her education at ASU, we may even see a return back from New Braunfels in our future. 👀
